Today happens to be Group Post day of the Papertrey Countdown which means that all of the design team members have got projects to share with you today! It also means that I've got two posts for you, so be sure to scroll down to see my On Ice - Day 3 post!
So for today's Group Post, Nichole asked us to come up with an inexpensive gift and gift wrapping.....something affordable, easy for you to replicate, and something that could be given to neighbors, coworkers, teachers, friends, etc.
Bart and I love to give our neighbors a little Christmas gift each year. It's not anything fancy or expensive, but just a little gift to let them know that we're thinking of them during the holidays. Delivering those gifts with Bart each year is something that I so enjoy.....in fact, we met some new neighbors one year that way -- delivering their little Christmas gift -- and they've since become as dear to us as family!
So for this year, I decided to put together a little "Cozy Beverage Sampler" for our neighbors.....a simple collection of hot beverage options such as flavored coffee, tea and hot cocoa. If your house is anything like ours, you probably get all kinds of sweets at Christmas time. Whether they be home made or store-bought, it seems that we collect gifts of various sweets like nobody's business! So in an effort to give our neighbors something a little different and something that anyone can use, I decided that a Cozy Beverage Sampler would be just the ticket!
Each Cozy Beverage Sampler contains 1 small bag of ground, flavored coffee, 2 chai tea bags, 1 hot cocoa packet and 2 Ghirardelli chocolate squares. You can get the individual little bags of coffee at Target and most grocery stores. Buy one box of tea and break out the tea bags into your gift bags -- I made sure to choose a tea flavor that is warm and cozy but that also had a pretty color of packaging that would coordinate with everything else in the bag....this chai tea has pretty little red tea bag packets. These hot cocoa packets are sold individually so you can get exactly the number that you need. The entire gift cost approximately $2.25 and it all fits PERFECTLY in Papertrey's small kraft coffee bags! Add up the cost of the gift and the packaging and these gifts come in at just under $3 each! Not too shabby, right?
I adore how this little bag turned out! SO easy but SO darling! I took a strip of the new distressed dots patterned paper and adhered it to the front of the coffee bag with scor-tape, making sure the paper was long enough to tuck just under the fold of the bag once it was closed.
Next, I added a strip of hawaiian shores classic grosgrain ribbon with more scor-tape. Seriously, so fast and easy! Then, I stamped the adorable plaid label image from Tiny Treats: Christmas on rustic cream card stock with hawaiian shores ink. I used a new die to create a little mat layer behind my tag -- Nichole will be telling you more about that die! And lastly, I stamped the label shape again in pure poppy ink, punched out just the circle portion and layered it on top. The ADORABLE little birdie and sentiment are both from Tiny Treats: Christmas. You are going to looooove all of the cute little images in this newest Tiny Treats set -- they're my favorites yet! I stamped the little bird image in true black ink and then colored it in with a few Copic markers. Easy peasy!
I'm so excited to make more of these when it gets closer to Christmas! Can you see yourself giving a similar gift to someone in your life?
