Bitty birthday bunting......bitty birthday bunting.....bitty birthday bunting........try saying that 3 times really fast! Seriously.....go ahead. I'll wait. But you have to say it out loud. It's way more fun than saying it in your head. Haha. Did you try it? I bet you smiled, didn't you? :)
Just popping in today to tell you Happy Friday, to wish you a FABULOUS weekend and to share a super simple little birthday card that packs an adorable punch!
I've had a little sketch and some notes for this card on my desk for a month or more now and this week seemed like the perfect time to finally whip this little ditty up.
There's not a lot to this card. I mean, it couldn't be more simple, but I love that about it because it really allows that bunting to shine! And, the great thing about this card is that it could work for a kid, teen or grown up and even for a guy or a girl. It's just FUN!
I used some vintage book print (pages from an old book) and a die from the Banner Builders collection to cut out the little pennant flags. Then, I punched a tiny hole in the top two corners of each flag and simply strung them on some poppy baker's twine. You could thread them on any type of twine but I love the extra little pop of color I was able to achieve with the baker's twine, since I was keeping the rest of the card so simple. Each flag is mounted in place with a bit of foam adhesive to ensure that they don't move around and simple bows were tied at the two ends of the twine and the bows were secured with mini glue dots. I then adhered pure poppy and hawaiian shores buttons to each flag with more mini glue dots.
The sentiment along the bottom of the card is from Heather's hip new Simple Sentiments stamp set. Love it! I stamped it in true black ink to finish off the card.
Have I got you thinking about making your own Bitty Birthday Bunting card? :)
So, another fun night on American Idol last night, huh? I'm really liking it this season. I love Jennifer Lopez and I like Steven Tyler a lot more than I thought I would.....except when he's all creepy with the pretty girls. Ick. But other than that, I've been really surprised at how entertaining he is. And don't you just love getting to see Jennifer's different make-up looks? She's so beautiful.
Oh, and as for our "name-the-iPhone-challenge".....this is SO fun! You guys are so clever (and some of you are cracking me up!) with all of the names you've suggested so far! Let's keep this going for another day or two, just for fun, shall we? Feel free to leave your suggestion in the comments section (and read yesterday's comments, if you'd like to see what's been suggested so far)!
Thanks for stopping by today and have a FABBY weekend. Oh, and join me tomorrow for a new little feature here on the blog-o. :)
