Hello there,
How's your Sunday going? We went to church this morning and then had a list of shopping and errands to take care of afterward. One of those stops was at Whole Foods where we had a few things to pick up, chief among them, (dry) french green lentils which we like to cook up and have on hand now and then to throw in soups, on salads, and we even make lentil tacos with them, substituting the lentils (seasoned with taco seasoning) instead of meat.
Anywhoooo.....we got our few items and checked out and proceeded back thru the produce department to exit (because that's just how the store is set up) and happened to see their heirloom tomatoes on the way out! Oh my heck! Heirloom tomatoes......in winter! Why didn't I know that they carry heirloom tomatoes (grown in Mexico) all winter long?! I felt like we won a prize or something! SCORE. They may look kind of ugly - especially those weird greenish ones - but land sakes, they tasted soooo good this summer! I can't wait to eat them this week.....gonna be some good eatin' around here! Wish I could share with you all.
Have you ever tried heirloom tomatoes? Ever grown them? We had so much fun growing our own last summer and I can't wait to plant even more of them this year. YUM.
Tonight we're having dinner with friends and doing a little Wii bowling. I'm hoping to kick some bowling booty! Haha.
Happy Sunday, friends. Finding those heirlooms today was such a treat. Wishing you an heirlooms in winter kind of week!
Smooches!
P.S. Thanks so much for all of your feedback on the new Favorite Things feature. Sounds like it's something I should continue once in awhile. ;)
