Well, hello there. :)
Welcome back for Day 2 of the Papertrey Countdown. I am absolutely overjoyed to read all of your positive feedback on all of the new products I introduced to you yesterday! Thank you SO much for taking the time to share your excitement with me.....you truly made my day! (All of the new items you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on Feb. 15.)
For today, I've got several more projects to share with you showcasing all of the new goodies you got the first glimpses of yesterday, starting with a cheery little little "just because" sort of card. This card is really pretty simple, but I just love how "happy" it seems. Doesn't it seem happy to you? :)
The card base is, of course, dark chocolate. Next, I pulled out a bit of guide lines grid card stock and stamped some doily images from my new Delightful Doilies stamp set off to the left, using summer sunrise ink. The easiest way to achieve this was to first stamp a medium sized doily, positioning it off to the left. Next, I stamped one of the "quadrant" doily images several times around the medium doily, using that medium doily as a guide. Then, I stamped the "Well, hello there" sentiment from my new Hello, Friend stamp set in dark chocolate and adhered the entire panel to the card base with foam adhesive.
The dark chocolate doily was die cut using one of my new Doily Details dies. Topping that is a flower die cut from stamper's select white card stock using the new Friendly Flower die, and stamped with a coordinating flower from Hello, Friend. I tucked a couple of lovely little gold pearlized pins (from Michael's) behind the flower....they stick nicely in the foam adhesive used to secure the flower. Just push 'em right into the foam.
Mmm.....if a newsprint card front is fun, how much fun is a die cut newsprint embellie?!
I started out with a berry sorbet card base on this one and added some Sweet Symphony patterned paper, as well as a strip of dark chocolate card stock that was die cut using the small scalloped border die.
Next, I die cut some rustic cream card stock with the mat stack 4 die and ran some vintage touch tea dye ink around the edges before stamping the die cut with two images from Background Basics: Newsprint -- the "headline" image and the "article text" image -- using smokey shadow ink. I'm seriously loving making my own newsprint embellies!
The frame image on the left is from the new Mat Stack 4 Collection (also available Feb. 15).....I stamped it in versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. The sentiment -- "Wishing you a cheery sort of day" -- from Hello, Friend, was stamped in dark chocolate ink and then the frame was cut out with scissors and added to the newsprint die cut.
Pure Poppy card stock was die cut with the heart prints die and stamped with a medium sized doily from Delightful Doilies, off to the right a bit. I LOVE that look and will have to remember to try it again soon! The small chocolate doily was created by die cutting rustic cream card stock with the smallest Delightful Doilies Die and then stamping it with a small doily image from the Delightful Doilies stamp set. A dark chocolate button was threaded with a bit of chocolate baker's twine and then added to the center of the doily. The small red doily stamped on the newsprint is also from Delightful Doilies.
Did you know that doilies also make great background patterns?? *wink*
I started out with a kraft card base on this little gem and then stamped it with medium sized doily images from Delightful Doilies using fresh snow ink. Then I went back in and stamped the smallest doilies in the centers, mixing them up for additional variety. Lastly, I swiped some vintage touch tea dye ink around the edges of the card base.
Ahhh......I can't get enough of these little button cards! Pair them with a little die cut doily and it's a match made in Heaven! Here, I used the new Button Card dies to cut out the button card, the hang tag at the top of the card, and the pinked edge square which I stamped with a gingham pattern from the new Bitty Background Blocks stamp set, using hawaiian shores ink. The card itself was stamped with 3 images from the new Button Boutique set -- the frame, the "Quality Buttons" sentiment and the 25 cents image at the bottom -- all in ripe avocado ink.
I stitched some new leaf buttons to the button card using chocolate baker's twine. Behind the button card, is a rustic cream doily die cut with a Doily Details Die as well as a bit of hawaiian shores card stock die cut with the fillable frames #4 die and then stamped with the "hello, friend" sentiment from the new Mat Stack 4 Collection stamp set. Seriously, how did we make cards before all of these fabulous Papertrey dies came along?!! Haha.
One more card for today.....this one is a rustic cream card base which I die cut with one of the Edgers #2 dies. I added a strip of Sweet Symphony patterned paper and beneath it, stamped the "Sending Happiness" sentiment from Hello, Friend. The little heart next to the sentiment was die cut from the center of the butterfly which was die cut using the love lives here butterfly die.
How about that new tag sale #4 die? The tag was cut from aqua mist card stock and to that, I added a kraft doily that was cut with a Doily Details die. Topping that is a bit of rustic cream card stock that was cut with the pinked edge square die from the Button Card Die collection, and then I stamped it with some Background Basics: Newsprint text, using dark chocolate ink. The butterfly and hawaiian shores button rounded out the tag before I finished it off with a bow of aqua mist classic grosgrain ribbon.
Well, I do hope you've enjoyed our visit today! Nichole and Heather Nichols will be showcasing Heather's newest sets today, and Melissa Bickford will have more to show you using her newest stamp set as well.
Thanks again for all of your kind words regarding these new goodies. I read each comment and I'm so glad to hear that you're as excited about these new product releases as I am! See you back here again tomorrow for more Countdown fun!
Have a goodie, Friends....
