Hello there...
So glad you could join me again today for day 3 of the Papertrey Countdown. (All of the new items you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on Feb. 15.)
I have lots of projects to share with you today, so let's get right to it!
This first card just makes me smile.....it's scrappy and layer-y and just plain fun and I love that the sentiment for the card -- "Just a note" -- can be found on the ticket itself. The tickets were die cut from kraft card stock with the Just the Ticket Border Die and then stamped with coordinating images/sentiment from the Just the Ticket stamp set, using smokey shadow ink. In front of the ticket is a bit of rustic cream card stock that was stamped with the new pinked edge square die from the Button Card Die Collection and then stamped with Polka Dot Basics II and summer sunrise ink. The butterfly was cut from Dotty Biscotti patterned paper using the Love Lives Here butterfly die. Behind the dots are a couple pearlized straight pins (from Michael's).....I can't get enough of those little guys these days.
Of course, all of those little bits and baubles are piled on a mat stack 5 die cut that was stamped with Background Basics: Newsprint. Goodness, I LOVE that look!
The bottom edge of the raspberry fizz card base was die cut using one of my new Edgers #2 dies and I stamped a bit of Background Basics: Sheet Music on the card base with versamark ink, just to give a hint of pattern to help anchor the focal point.
Mmmm....wondering about that kraft doily??? Nichole has more info about that for you today, over on her blog, but yes, that's a new die that Papertrey will be releasing this month! And the best part is that it layers beautifully with this medium Delightful Doilies Die as well as all of the Doily Details Dies!!
I used the new Parisian Lace Doily Die to die cut the kraft doily and layered it with a bit of berry sorbet card stock that was die cut with the mat stack 4 die and stamped with a coordinating image from the new Mat Stack 4 Collection stamp set, using versamark ink. On top of that is a bit of stamper's select white card stock that was cut with the medium sized Delightful Doilies Die and stamped with one of the medium doily images from Delightful Doilies. In the center is another small doily image from Delightful Doilies that was stamped in dark chocolate ink and punched out with a 1" circle punch. A bit of dark chocolate grosgrain ribbon and a pure poppy button finished off the focal point.
For a fun twist on adding the sentiment, I die cut a bit of berry sorbet card stock with the bookmark topper die and stamped the "thank you" sentiment from the new Fillable Frames Additions 1 stamp set in dark chocolate ink. A Making Memories brad was used to accent the sentiment.
Ahhh......for those of you that are always on the lookout for one-layer, easily mailable cards, this one's for you! I used various images from the Delightful Doilies stamp set to create these pretty doilies, stamping them in ripe avocado, hawaiian shores and summer sunrise inks.
The "thinking of you" sentiment is another from Fillable Frames Additions 1......it's stamped in dark chocolate ink.
Now, suppose you've whipped up a card and you want to tuck it into a kraft envelope and you want to spice up the envelope a bit. How about creating your own envelope seals! Papertrey's white adhesive sheets make it so easy! The adhesive sheets are simply white paper with an adhesive backing. I ran some of the white adhesive sheets thru my Big Shot with the new Friendly Flower die and cut out the above flowers.
Next, I stamped them with flowers from the Hello, Friend stamp set, in colors that coordinated with my card. Don't they look so cute laying on the kraft envies?
You could simply stick one on the envelope as is, orrrr you could kick it up a notch by stamping a few leaves (from Turning a New Leaf) in versamark ink on the envelope before affixing your envelope seal.
Simply peel off the paper backing and the flower is ready to adhere to the envelope.
Such a simple and fun way to dress up the outside of an envelope! Can't you just see using the white adhesive sheets to die cut all sorts of different envelope seals?!
Before I go, I've got one more project to share with you today. This one starts out with an aqua mist card base which was stamped with a large flourish from Fancy Flourishes using versamark ink and then run thru my Big Shot with the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate. Such a great soft, subtle texture.
For the focal point, I began by die cutting rustic cream card stock with the mat stack 3 die and then stamped it with a coordinating label image from the Mat Stack 3 Collection using hawaiian shores ink. Then, I stamped the "Make a wish" sentiment from Hello, Friend in dark chocolate ink followed by a couple of small flourishes from Fancy Flourishes. Lastly, I die cut some hawaiian shores card stock with the Friendly Flower die and stamped it with a flower from Hello, Friend in versamark ink.
All righty, that's it for me today, but you'll want to be sure and visit Nichole Heady today as well as Lisa Johnson and Maile Belles for some more sneak peek fun. Plus, Heather Nichols and Melissa Bickford will have more goodies to share, showcasing their newest stamp sets.
Thanks for stopping by....I'll be back tomorrow with more peeks at Delightful Doilies, Background Basics: Newsprint and Hello, Friend!
