Hello there...The last day of the Papertrey Countdown has arrived which means that TOMORROW all of the new items you've been getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink! Have you been writing and re-writing your wish list all week long? :)
Well, I've got some great news for you.....it's another Group Post day which means that ALL of the girls on the Design Team have doily inspired projects to share with you today!! And not only that, but there's another fun contest going on, involving photos on each Design Team member's blog, including the photo above! For all the info about the contest, be sure to visit Nichole Heady's blog to see how you can get entered to win the entire doily product line that's being introduced this month!! Funnnnn!
Sit back and relax. Get comfy because I've got a lotttt to show you today! And hold on to your hats -- this is a pretty photo-heavy post.
Let's get this show on the road.....
I wanted to create a set of one layer cards and coordinating envelopes using Delightful Doilies so I whipped up this little set by stamping all of the doilies and sentiments with versamark ink and then heat embossing them with white embossing powder. I LOVE all of that glorious crisp, whiteness! I stamped the medium sized doilies first and then stamped the outer ring next, using the medium doily as a guide for proper placement.
TIP: When heat embossing the outer ring, I found that it was easiest to line things up by stamping 1/4 of the outer ring and immediately heat embossing it with the white embossing powder before moving on to the next section of that outer ring. This makes it much easier to see where the next section of the ring needs to be stamped.
Lastly, I stamped the small doily centers and finished up with the sentiments. (Sentiments are from my Signature Greetings, Signature Series: Butterfly and Signature Series: Flower stamp sets.)
Next, I moved on to the envelopes. I stamped the outer flap on each envelope in ink colors that would coordinate with each of my cards in the set. I used only the medium and small sized doilies from Delightful Doilies for the flaps. By tucking a piece of scrap paper under the flap of the envelope, I was able to stamp the doilies off the edges of the flap without getting ink on any other part of the envelope.
Here, you can see the completed dark chocolate doily envelope. Fun, right?
Next, I die cut 4 envelope liners using the envelope liner die and then stamped them just as I did the flaps.
Above, you can see the match set -- the envelope and it's liner before I tucked it into the envelope.
And here, you can see a bit of how the set looks once the liner had been adhered inside the envelope.
Here's a little peek at the dark chocolate set -- with the inside of the envelope.....
....and outside.
Here, you can see the 4 envelope flaps together. L-R: hibiscus burst ink, raspberry fizz ink, dark chocolate ink and pure poppy ink.
And the same 4 liners. Aren't they just so cheery looking?
Seriously, don't you just love them all together??? :) So much doily goodness.
All righty, so next up, I have a happy little gift tag set to show you featuring the Doily Details dies and lots of other fun goodies. Let's break down the details a bit.....
When I set out to create a set of tags such as this one, I always start by laying the die cut tags out on my work surface and then I begin laying out the other die cuts I want to use. In this case, I started out with kraft tags that were cut using the tag sale #1 die and then stamper's select white doilies that were die cut using my new Doily Details dies.
Next, I go ahead and lay out various doilies, die cuts, punched elements and stamps I'd like to use on each tag. I do this until I have most of the tags pretty much mapped out before I begin adhering anything down.
Here are some close-ups for you.....
This first tag has a bit of sweet symphony patterned paper that was die cut using the new Friendly Flower die topped with a pure poppy button and a bit of chocolate baker's twine. The little raspberry fizz butterfly was punched out with a Martha Stewart punch and the "happy birthday" sentiment is from 2011 Birthday Tags.
This tag has more sweet symphony patterned paper as well as a strip of raspberry fizz card stock that was trimmed with pinking sheers. The flower was die cut using the Friendly Flower die and then stamped with a flower image from Hello, Friend. The pure poppy scalloped layer was die cut with a limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die.
The sweet symphony patterned paper on the above tag was die cut using the fillable frames #11 die. The raspberry fizz scalloped layer was die cut with a limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die and the "make a wish" sentiment as well as the scalloped tag image are both from 2011 Birthday Tags.
More similar elements on this one.....the sweet symphony patterned paper was die cut with the fillable frames #5 die and this time, the limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die that was used is the pinked edge circle. The "may all your birthday dreams and wishes come true" tag from 2011 Birthday Tags was stamped in pure poppy ink and a dark chocolate doily image from Delightful Doilies was stamped, punched out and adhered with foam adhesive to the center of the tag. A dark chocolate button finished this one off.
This little "Make a wish" tag includes a sentiment and the dotty tag from 2011 Birthday Tags. Another limitless layers die was used on the raspberry fizz card stock on this little guy and the fillable frames #4 die was used on the sweet symphony paper.
Last tag......this time, I stamped a doily image from Delightful Doilies directly on a stamper's select doily that I die cut using a Doily Details die. Then, I stamped another smaller doily image, punched it out and added it to the tag.
All righty, so how about a few cards now? First up, this little number has a berry sorbet card base which I stamped with Delightful Doilies using versamark ink. Two strips of dark chocolate card stock were added along the bottom of the card.
I can't seem to stop using the new Button Boutique stamp set......I'm tellin' ya, those little button cards are addicting! Here, I stamped the "Quality Buttons" sentiment as well as the 25 cents image on the button card that was die cut using the new Button Card Die. To that, I added a Doily Details die cut as well as a dark chocolate pinked edge circle (limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die). The "happy birthday" image is from the 2011 Birthday Tags set. Lastly, I added a threaded pure poppy button and a couple of pearlized straight pins (from Michael's sewing notions section).
Next up, another button card number......don't you just love how well all of these new elements work together?!
The button card was die cut with the Button Card Dies and then stamped with the "25 cents stripes", "Style Vintage" and "Made in USA" images from Button Boutique. A bit of 2008 Bitty Box Basics patterned paper was die cut using the pinked edge square die from the Button Card Die set. That was topped with a fun flower that was die cut with the Friendly Flower die and stamped with a flower from Hello, Friend. A plum pudding button and a bit of rustic jute button twine finish off the button card.
For the card base, I started out with some spring moss card stock that I die cut with an Edgers #2 die and then stamped with the "headline" and "article text" images from Background Basics: Newsprint. To that, I added a strip of Dotty Biscotti patterned paper as well as a strip of simply chartreuse card stock that was stamped with the "Thinking of you and smiling" sentiment from Hello, Friend using ripe avocado ink. A spring moss topnotch twill bow was tied around the card front to complete the ensemble.
One more card for you today......oh, how I love this one! I started out by stamping a rustic cream card stock panel with Background Basics: Newsprint using smokey shadow ink. After swiping the edges with vintage touch tea dye ink, I adhered the panel to a kraft card front. A strip of pure poppy grosgrain ribbon was adhered behind the raspberry fizz Doily Details die cut and a smokey shadow flower (from Hello, Friend) was stamped on a rustic cream die cut (Friendly Flower die). A couple more pearlized pins, a button and a couple rhinestones rounded things out nicely.
All righty, that's all I've got for you today, but I hope you've been inspired to try a few of these new goodies out for yourself. Don't forget that all of these new goodies will be available tomorrow at Papertrey Ink. In the meantime, be sure and bop around to visit all of the Design Team girls for a TON of doily inspiration and don't forget to read all about today's fun doily contest on Nichole's blog so you can be sure and play along!
