I'm thrilled to have so many exciting new products coming out this month and since I have quite a few goodies to share with you, I thought I'd start out with a few product introductions, followed by pictures of some of the new goodies as well as how they work, and then we'll get to the actual projects I've created for today. Let's get started.....

Background Basics: Newsprint stamp set -- This $15 background building set is a new favorite for sure -- it contains 3 background building images which will allow you to create the look of vintage newsprint.
Whew! That's quite a little list but hopefully having it all listed out for you, will help you to keep things straight during the next few days. Stay tuned to Nichole's blog for more info about all of these items later in the week.
Now, how about a few peeks at these new dies.....
First up, the Delightful Doilies Dies.....
These dies were designed to coordinate with the Delightful Doilies stamp set. The photo above shows you the 3 dies that come in the set. They were designed to allow you to create doilies in any of the 3 sizes, by pairing them with the images in the stamp set.
As you'll see in the following photos, the Delightful Doilies stamp set is comprised of 14 different doily building images to allow you to create a WIDE variety of doilies by mixing and matching the elements in the set. The set contains 8 small doily stamps, 3 medium sized doily rings (to be stamped around the small doilies) and 3 "doily quadrant" images which were designed to be stamped 4 times to complete a large doily circle around the medium sized doilies. Now, it may seem like it would have been easier for you, had the large circles already been completed in the stamp, however that would have seriously limited the number of images that could be included in the stamp set. In an effort to give you as many doily building options as possible, the circles were designed as these "doily quadrant" images, so that you can have several more stamps in the set. Giving you maximum doily building options was my goal when creating this set and I think you're going to be thrilled with all the possibilities this set has to offer, once you start playing with it for yourself!
If you're using the Delightful Doilies Dies with the Delightful Doilies stamp set, you'll want to die cut your doily first, and then begin stamping with the outer ring of your choosing. As you can see, the die has points around the edge to assist you with stamp placement.
In each of the 3 doily quadrant images, there is a small portion of the image that was designed to be stamped directly on top of the previous image. This should also assist you in proper placement when creating your outer circle.
Here, you can see that I've stamped the image 4 times, creating a beautiful outer doily ring.
Now it's time to choose one of the 3 middle sized rings and stamp it inside the outer ring.
And the above photo shows a completed doily image, after I stamped one of the smallest doilies in the center.
This photo, shows you how very different two doilies can look, simply by changing the outer ring!! Notice that the middle sized ring and the center image are exactly the same on both doilies....the only change is the outer ring!!
Here are a couple of pure poppy doilies, one stamped on stamper's select white card stock and one on berry sorbet card stock.
And this photo shows you the 3 different sized doilies, stamped on berry sorbet card stock.
Just to get your creative juices flowing, I thought I'd show you a happy little pile of colorful doilies! ;)
AND.....the medium sized Delightful Doilies Die and coordinating stamp images can be used to create cute little flowers, as well. Just tuck some leaves behind this little guy and maybe even add a stem, and voila! You've got a cute little flower!
NOW, a new product that I have been just giddy about.....Doily Details Dies!!! Each of these dies measure approximately 2 3/4" across and the above photo shows you the dies, as well as the DARLING little doilies that they create! After die-cutting the doily, just pop out the little holes and you've got gorgeous little doilies that you can use on anything and everything! I can't tell you how ecstatic I am, to finally be able to die cut as many of these little guys as I want, in any color that I want, and for as long as I want!
Another great thing about these doilies is that the centers work really well with all of Papertrey's 1.75" tag images and their coordinating products.
Does this little pile of doily beauties make your heart beat just a little bit faster or what? ;)
Up next, are the Edgers #2 dies, which allow you to add a pretty little doily edge to your cards.
Here are a couple of blank cards die cut with the Edgers #2 dies. Such a pretty little, lacey edge, don't you think?
A closer look....
The last new product photo I have to share with you today is this photo of the new Friendly Flower Die, which was designed to coordinate with my new Hello, Friend stamp set. You'll see this die, as well as all of these other newbies in action below as well as in all of the projects I'll be sharing throughout the week!
Let's get right to some of those projects, shall we?
This first card contains lots of new goodies. The card base is dark chocolate card stock, layered with a bit of guide lines grid card stock. I love the subtle hint of pattern that is achieved with the guide lines grid lines card stock when you want a little something extra but not too much to take away from the focal point of the card.
I used the large Delightful Doilies Die to die cut stamper's select white card stock and then stamped a doily pattern using the Delightful Doilies stamp set in summer sunrise ink. Next, I die cut a bit of dark chocolate card stock with the mat stack 4 die and stamped it with a coordinating image from the new Mat Stack 4 Collection stamp set. (Stay tuned to Nichole's blog this week for more info about that set!)
Next, I layered a rustic cream doily that was die cut using one of the new Doily Details Dies followed by a bit of kraft card stock that was die cut with the medium Delightful Doilies Die, and stamped with a coordinating image from the Delightful Doilies stamp set using dark chocolate ink.
Then, I stamped another medium sized doily image on summer sunrise card stock using summer sunrise ink, and then punched out a circle from the doily using a 1.75" circle punch. To top off the stack of goodies, I die cut a bit of my Sweet Symphony card stock with my Signature Series: Butterfly die and stitched it to the circle.
The "Thinking of you and smiling" sentiment is one from my new Hello, Friend stamp set and it was stamped in dark chocolate ink. A few brown rhinestones finished off this card.
Next up is a super simple and easily mailable one-layer card that packs a pretty punch!
As you can see, I stamped a large hawaiian shores doily on this aqua mist card base and added a hawaiian shores button to the center with a bit of scor-tape.
When stamping the doilies on card stock when you're NOT using the Delightful Doilies Dies, the easiest thing to do is to stamp the medium sized doily first. This will allow you to stamp the outer doily ring easier by following the edge of the medium doily. Also, placing the small doily in the center is a snap after the medium image has been stamped.
The bottom of the card was die cut using the new Edgers #2 die and the "Sending Happiness" sentiment from the Hello, Friend stamp set was stamped along the bottom using more hawaiian shores ink.
Ahhhh......now here's another stamp set that I'm thrilled to show you......I can't seem to stop using it! Introducing Background Basics: Newsprint!
Background Basics: Newsprint contains 3 background building images that will allow you to create the look of vintage newsprint. I've been so thrilled to see how well this set works in conjunction with so many other sets! You'll get to see this set in action all week long, so stay tuned!
For today, I thought I'd show you just how easy it is to use this set. The above photo shows you the first image in the set -- the newspaper heading. I swiped the edges of two rustic cream card bases with a bit of vintage touch tea dye ink, and then stamped the heading at the top of each card using smokey shadow ink. The softness of the smokey shadow ink (instead of black) goes a long way to add to the vintage feel of these cards. Just wait.....
Next, I stamped the "article text image" from Background Basics: Newsprint. I stamped the image 3 times on the card on the let, letting the text run off the edges on either side. I stamped the image twice on the card on the right, leaving a border (like an actual newspaper) around the edge of the stamped image.
You could certainly stop there, using both of these card fronts just as they are. OR, you could keep going......
The third stamp in the Background Basics: Newsprint set is an "ads image" which looks like ads you would have found in a newspaper years and years ago. I stamped that ads image along the bottom of each of these cards. I just LOVE how these look!!! Can't you just envision about a million different ways you could decorate these card fronts -- both for feminine as well as masculine cards?!!
For today, I thought I'd show you a cheery, girly card I whipped up using one of those card fronts! GAH! LOVE!
For the focal point, I started out with a bit of orange zest card stock that I die cut using the fillable frames #4 die and to that, I added a doily cut from hawaiian shores card stock using my new Doily Details Dies. Then, I die cut a bit more rustic cream card stock with the double ended banner die and stamped it with the "Wishing you a cheery sort of day" sentiment from Hello, Friend in orange zest ink. To top things off, I die cut one last piece of rustic cream card stock with my new Friendly Flower die and stamped it with one of the cheery text flowers from Hello, Friend, again with orange zest ink.
This card would surely brighten someone's day to receive it in the mail or perhaps find it on their desk at work, don't you think?
All right, Friends......if you've hung on with me for this long, I've got one more card to share with you. So many things about this card just make me smile. :)
To start off, I stamped the headline and article text images from Background Basics: Newsprint on the hawaiian shores card base using versamark ink. I created that fun little button card by die cutting some rustic cream card stock with the new Button Card die and stamping it with an image from the Button Boutique stamp set (so cute, right?!) and then adhered some hawaiian shores buttons up the left side of the card with scor-tape. Then, I die cut some pure poppy felt with my new Friendly Flower die and stitched a pure poppy button to the center. Leaves were created by die-cutting some kraft card stock with one of the leaf prints dies. They were then stamped with images from another new set coming out this month (watch Nichole's blog for more info). I stuck two pretty straight pins (from Michael's) into the felt flower and tucked a kraft doily that was cut with a Doily Details Die behind the button card. Seriously, piling on all of these detailed little layers is so. much. fun!
To finish the card off, I stamped another sentiment ("Well, Hello There") from the Hello, Friend stamp set in the bottom left corner of the card using smokey shadow ink.
Well, that's it for me today. Heather Nichols and Melissa Bickford will be sharing about their new stamp sets today and don't forget to visit Nichole Heady and each of the other Design Team girls to see their Button Boutique projects for today!
Thanks so much for spending a part of your day here with me. Do you have a favorite product so far? Something that you're most excited to see more of? I'd love to hear from you!
