....there were never such devoted sisters.....
Remember that song from White Christmas? It's been a favorite around these parts forever. I bring it up because it was running thru my head as I was thinking about these photos of how I spent my Tuesday this week. :)
My sisters, Grace and Glory, and I decided to make the trek out to my sister, Diann's, house on Tuesday so that we could have a bit of sister time as well as some baby time with the littles and Baby Zoey (my nieces and nephew). Turns out, it was a really, really fun day.
I had a ton of paper-crafting products that had been sent to me over time from magazines (as payment for publications) and such.....so much product, that it was taking over the studio. It was getting out of hand. Ha. SO, thinking that maybe my sisters would like some of it, I boxed a bunch of goodies up and took them with me. Turns out, my sisters had a BALL going thru all of that stuff. They laid it all out on the kitchen table in piles and groups according to what type of product it was.....brads, flowers, stickers, papers, rub-ons, ribbon, etc. You get the idea. And then, they went thru each pile one item at a time, dividing it all up between them. Honestly, I had no idea they'd have so much fun with it! My sisters kind of like to give me grief about hogging up all of the creative genes, my being the first born and all. :) And while they've all done their share of crafty projects here and there over the years, they haven't really gone whole-hog yet with the paper crafting thing. So imagine my surprise when they dug into those crafty supplies like it was Christmas, almost never even fighting over who got what. Haha. They spent hours {HOURS} sorting everything. Honestly, it cracked me up. Even the 16-year old went home with a box of stuff.
While my sisters sorted and divvied and decided who got what, I held Zoey. And held her.........and held her........and held her. Turns out, my evil plan to distract my sisters with all of that crafty product WORKED! LOL. If I had known that all I had to do to get tons of baby time was to take along a trunk full of crafting supplies, I would have started doing that back when Ally was born!! Hahaha.
Besides holding Zoey, I also got to play with both Ally and Malachi. Chi wanted to go watch Despicable Me at one point, but Ally was bored and not interested in the movie, so we pulled out a few crafty supplies for a little project of her own. We gave her a little chipboard book that was totally blank (meant for creating your own little scrapbook) and a sheet of adorable Doodlebug Designs glittery stickers and let her make her own tiny board book. She sat in the rocker with me and ZoZo and peeled stickers off the sheet and stuck them all willy-nilly on the pages of her book. When she got finished, she said, "Read it!" So, like any good auntie would do, I "read" the book to her, making up a crazy story about the strawberries and the flowers until I {thankfully} got to the last page of the book {because I was running out of things to say about strawberry and flower stickers} and loudly proclaimed, "THE END!"
I love how much she's concentrating in this picture. She worked hard on her little book. Later, when she was getting a little bored again, we told her to read the book to us. She did basically the same thing I did, reading out loud, making up the story as she went......so funny.
Diann was sweet to grab my camera and snap all of these photos for me, throughout the day. (Thanks, Diann-y)
Just look at that little face.......and besides being cute, she's just about the sweetest baby ever. So, so glad I managed to get away for a day and spend the time with my sisters and nieces/nephew. It was a great day.
And now, I'm in the studio and up to my eyeballs in new Papertrey goodies. :) It's a good place to be! I don't have anything crafty to share with you today because I'm hard at work getting ready for the Countdown, but you'll get to see all of these projects in just a few short days.
Until then, hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Smooches,
