Hello there.......It's time for the first group post of the month at Papertrey Ink, which means that all of us on the design team have projects to share with you showcasing the new Fruit Fusion stamp set and die series designed by Melissa Bickford. Each of us have chosen one of the specific fruits to work with, and I couldn't resist the Fruit Fusion: Pear stamp set because of the sentiment I've used on today's card....."We make a perfect pear". I knew right away that I wanted to put together a little gift that I could tuck into my husband's lunch, just to let him know that I'm thinking about him.
First up, the gift.....Bartley loves fruit, so I decided to create a sweet little way to package a red pear to make it more like a little present.....something that he could take in his lunch.....something that would hopefully brighten his day. I began by running some kraft card stock thru our paper shredder to create some stuffing to put around the pear, nestled in an 8oz. round clear top tin.
Around the tin, I tied a bow with fine linen saddle stitch ribbon and added a dark chocolate button that was threaded with chocolate baker's twine. I die cut some rustic cream card stock with the tiny tags die and stamped the little "x" image from Fruit Fusion: Pear in a little row using vintage touch tea dye ink, as well as the word "pear" in dark chocolate ink. The tag was simply tied around the bow so that it peeks out from behind the button.
For the card, I started with a kraft card base and layered 3 different patterned papers from Heather's new Road Map collection and then rounded the bottom corners of the card with a corner chomper.
Next, I die cut two pears from vintage cream card stock with the Fruit Fusion: Pear die and stamped them with coordinating images from the Fruit Fusion: Pear stamp set using terra cotta tile and scarlet jewel inks. A dark chocolate button with a bit of rustic cream button twine tops the two pears.
Tucked behind the pears is a label that was die cut with an angled labels die and stamped with a coordinating label image from the Label Basics stamp set with vintage touch tea dye ink. Then I stamped the "We make a perfect pear" sentiment in dark chocolate ink followed by the heart trio from my new Whale Wishes stamp set.
As a finishing touch, I stamped the heart trio from Whale Wishes one more time, placing it roughly over our home state on the Road Map patterned paper.
I hope you've been inspired to make your own sweet treat for someone special. Don't forget to visit each of the girls on the design team today to see each of their Fruit Fusion projects.
