Hello again.....it's Day 4 of the Papertrey Countdown. It's Group Post Day so this is actually my second post for the day. Be sure to scroll on down to see my first post featuring Melissa Bickford's Fruit Fusion!
I hope you've been enjoying the festivities so far. First up tonight, I've got a fun little Whale Wishes card to share with you. I started out with a ripe avocado card base and added a bit of Green Boutique dotted patterned paper.
I thought it'd be cute to have a little birdie friend for the whale, perched right on top of Mr. Whale. I stamped the whale from Whale Wishes in hawaiian shores ink and added a tiny rhinestone for his eye. Next, I stamped a bird from Little Bitty Bird in black ink, right above the whale, so it looks like he's standing on the whale. Then, I die cut the same bird with the Little Bitty Bird die and stamped the bird on the die cut in black ink and adhered the paper pieced bird over the stamped one with foam adhesive.
The "Wishing you a whopper of a great day" sentiment from Whale Wishes was stamped in ripe avocado ink on the mat stack 4 die cut layer.
Along the bottom of the card is a strip of stamper's select white card stock that was die cut with the eyelet lace border die as well as a bow tied with ripe avocado topnotch twill ribbon. To reinforce the friendship theme, I stamped the word "friend" from Little Bitty Bird on a bit of hawaiian shores card stock and adhered it just above the ribbon.
For this next card, I put one of my new Edgers #3 dies to work and created lovely layered scallops by simply die cutting several patterned papers and card stock strips and adhering one above the other.
My new Cane Print Impression Plate was used on the top kraft card stock layer for a bit of added detail and then I stitched along the top of the panel with my sewing machine. A ruffly flower was created with dark chocolate felt and the Beautiful Blooms II dies as well as a berry sorbet button and rustic jute button twine. The flower nestled nicely in a bit of looped berry sorbet classic grosgrain ribbon.
Just behind the flower, I tucked a little tag that was die cut from rustic cream card stock with the Tiny Tags Die, and stamped with "Thanks" and "friend" from the Tiny Tags stamp set.
The dotted patterned paper is from Heather's new Road Map collection and it was really my jumping off point for this card. I love that color combo and several of the papers from the In Bloom collection paired with it perfectly.
Thanks so much for coming by today and for your sweet comments about this week's projects. I appreciate them more than you know.
Be sure to visit Nichole as well as all of the girls on the Design Team today to see their Group Post projects, plus Melissa Bickford and Tiffany Pastor will have projects showcasing their newest stamp sets for you as well. I'll see you again tomorrow, Friends.
Take care,
