Hello....
It's August 1st already (good grief, where is the year going?!) and so, you know what that means....time again for another Senior Design Team challenge over at Papertrey Ink. This month, Nichole has challenged us to pull out those Text Boxed stamp sets from wayyyyy back when, and give 'em some love. I distinctly remember when this set came out, it was long before I was on the design team, and I thought this set was so, so cool. It was fun today, to whip up a card using the set and pair it up with several fun products that have been released more recently. By pairing newer dies, papers and accessories with older sets, it really gives you the chance to breathe new life into those older sets.
For today, I used the long box image with starbursts -- this image has been my favorite from the start. But the fun thing is that I stamped the image in three different colors, on strips of stamper's select white card stock that I'd first die cut with one of the Half & Half dies. I then trimmed the sides off of each strip, leaving a simple "bracket" shape at the bottom of each strip. Buttons in coordinating colors (hawaiian shores, ripe avocado & aqua mist) were added for a bit more detail.
The "smile" sentiment, also from Text Boxed, was stamped on the aqua mist strip, using hawaiian shores ink.
I tucked a strip of Damask Designs patterned paper along the bottom of the card, which really allowed the die cut detailing at the bottom of each strip to really stand out and shine.
Just below the damask paper is another strip of white card stock, this one was die cut with the eyelet lace border die.
