Hello, dear readers.
Thought it was high time I gave you another pupdate. The honest truth is that this puppy mama business has been kicking me in the hiney this last week or so. Every day has revolved around Win's nap schedule for the last 4 weeks. It's something we're going to need to work on -- I'm not getting much done around here. He doesn't mind sleeping in the kennel at night now, at all. (Hallelujah!) And he takes quite a few naps in the kennel, sometimes willingly and sometimes a bit reluctantly. But when he wakes up, he wants out and he wants out now. And he doesn't want to spend any time in the kennel unless he's ready to sleep. This is also something we're going to have to work on because sooner or later, this mama is going to need to leave this house and it may or may not directly coincide with his nap schedule! Ha.
AND, on top of that, a certain little puppy of ours has decided to be fairly obedient for Bart and pretty aggressive with me. Lovely. We're starting puppy training this next week and I. Can't. Wait. :) A puppy trainer is coming to our house for several sessions and then, in another month or so after he's had all of his shots, he'll go to puppy class w/lots of other puppies. In the meantime, 3 more days till puppy training starts. 3 more days till puppy training starts. 3 more days till puppy training starts. Heee. Does it seem like I'm looking forward to puppy training starting? I'm sure the training will be for Bart and I as much as for Windsor, but I really can't wait to get a handle on this puppy aggression. Apparently it's fairly common for puppies this age to attempt lashing out at their owners in an effort to dominate them, but I'm anxious to nip that bad behavior in the bud right now, while he's still little.
Love the wrinkles that pile up on his head when he eats. :)
He sleeps in the craziest positions, and on his back a lot!
It's a good thing he's cute.
I had to let him "bark it out" in the kennel the other day. Hard. For any of you mothers out there that have ever had to let your baby "cry it out" in their bed, I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about. I felt like the Supernanny. Haha.
Seriously, look how sweet and innocent he looks! Don't let the puppy dog eyes fool ya. 3 more days till puppy training starts, little Mister! There's about to be a new sheriff in town.
His paws are getting bigger and bigger. Heck, all of him is getting bigger and bigger. Every couple of days, there's a new body part that looks way bigger. First, we noticed that his head looked giant. Then, his ears appeared to have grown a foot. Then, his feet seemed bigger. And now, his legs are getting longer and thicker. It's crazy.
When we brought him home, he weighed 7.9 lbs. Now, almost 4 weeks later, he weighs over 15 lbs! He's basically doubled his weight since we brought him home.
Anyway, that's the latest from here.
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
