Hellooooo!! Today is the last day of the Papertrey Countdown which means that tomorrow, (Sept. 15) all of this month's new releases will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink! I have one more new product this month that I thought we'd focus on today, though you've been getting peeks at this new Candy Cane Prints patterned paper collection all week long. ;) I've got several cards to share with you today, that each include some of this fun patterned paper. Also, quite a few of these papers would work really well all year long -- you can use them for much more than just Christmas projects!
First up is a sweet little Christmas card with the aqua mist striped patterned paper on an aqua mist card base.
I die cut some white card stock with the mat stack 3 die and then die cut and stamped the mug (aqua mist ink on aqua mist card stock) and peppermint stick images from Candy Cane Christmas and added them to the mat stack layer. I stamped the steam image from Candy Cane Christmas, just above the mug, using smokey shadow ink and added some glitter to the stripes of the peppermint stick. One of Heather's new Holly Jolly dies was used to cut out holly leaves and berries from simply chartreuse and pure poppy felt.
The sweet little "Merry Christmas" sentiment from Candy Cane Christmas was stamped on a thin strip of stamper's select white card stock and adhered over the patterned paper.
Next up, how about some Holiday Lights? This card shows you all 4 of the interchangable light bulb options in my new Holiday Lights stamp set....I stamped the strings of lights in true black ink and then went back and stamped the lights in pure poppy, spring moss and aqua mist inks.
A bit of glitter was added to the centers of the circle and star lights, with a two-way glue pen.
The sentiment -- "String up the lights, It's Christmas time" is one from Holiday Lights and it was stamped on pure poppy card stock that was die cut using one of the Half & Half dies. A strip of scalloped ripe avocado card stock was added just above the sentiment and more Candy Cane Prints patterned paper was tucked just behind the sentiment.
One more Candy Cane Prints card for you today....this particular pattern could easily be used year round on cards for men and boys. It coordinates with spring moss, hawaiian shores, ripe avocado and new leaf.
I added a piece of the patterned paper to a new leaf card base.
To the left of the sentiment, I added a couple of pine boughs that were die cut from ripe avocado card stock using the new Pine Boughs dies (see Nichole's blog for more info about these!). I topped the pine boughs with some threaded spring moss buttons.....they serve as nice, neutral little berries.
For the sentiment from Think Big Favorites #8, I stamped it on a Fillable Frames #4 die cut, however I didn't want to lose that swooshy tale off to the right of the "n" on "season", so I stamped the sentiment on the fillable frames die cut as well as a strip of spring moss card stock that was die cut with one of the new Photo Finish Strips dies.
Well that's it for me today......but be sure to visit Nichole Heady and each of the design team girls today, plus Melissa Bickford and Tiffany Pastor will have one last sneak peek post for you!
I sincerely hope you've enjoyed all of this month's Countdown projects!! Do you have a favorite product from this release? Something that you're just chomping at the bit to get your crafty little hands on? I'd love to hear what you're most excited about!
Have a great, great day!
