Hello there, it's day 3 of the Papertrey Countdown which means that release day (when these new products will be available at Papertrey Ink) is just around the corner (October 15)! I'm back today with a few more cards to share with you, starting out with this first soft and sweet little number.
I mentioned early on to you that the new Christmas Poinsettia dies are ideal for making felt poinsettias and here is one such poinsettia! I started out with a lavender moon card base and stamped the leaves from Christmas Poinsettia, using plum pudding ink, directly on the card base. Next, I used the Christmas Poinsettia dies to die cut two of each layer from vintage cream felt and stitched a lavender moon button thru all of the layers with rustic jute button twine. I LOVE the dimension that is achieved by stamping the leaves on the card front and adding the felt flower on top!
Along the bottom of the card, I added strips of rustic cream and plum pudding card stock. On the cream layer, I stamped a sentiment from Christmas Poinsettia, "May joy and peace be yours this Christmas". The plum pudding layer was scalloped using the small scalloped border die and I stitched the cream layer directly to the card front with my sewing machine.
Next up is another 6-layer poinsettia. This time, I stamped the flowers from Christmas Poinsettia using hawaiian shores ink, on each layer of vintage book print that I die cut with the Christmas Poinsettia dies. Before putting the flower together, I went around all of the edges with vintage touch tea dye ink. A few Hero Arts adhesive pearls were added both to the flower center and to accent the card front.
Notice the aqua mist/hawaiian shores card stock layers that anchor the flower? Those were created using the new Wine Bottle Tag Die -- a perfect fit on a card! I die cut the aqua mist layer with the Wine Bottle Tag Die and simply cut off the rounded portion at the top....the part that would hook on to a wine bottle. I made sure to save the pretty embossed strip across the top though....it's a great little detail that I didn't want to lose!
Then, I die cut the hawaiian shores layer but this time, besides cutting the top off, I also trimmed off some of the card stock on each side, making a much more narrow strip that still had the pretty embossed detail at the top and the perfect "v" at the bottom.
The sentiment, "Sending Holiday Cheer", is another from Christmas Poinsettia. I stamped it in true black ink to coordinate with the vintage book print.
A few snippets of hawaiian shores classic grosgrain ribbon serve as the leaves, tucked in behind the flower.
Lastly, a quick and easy Star of Wonder card for you. This card could be easily mass-produced and in any color scheme you'd like. I went for purples on this one.
This sentiment is another from Star of Wonder, "Celebrate the true meaning of the season". I stamped it on the lavender moon card base using plum pudding ink. I also stamped a bit of Background Basics: Tin Types before adding a strip of Damask Designs patterned paper. Over that is a small strip of lavender moon topnotch twill ribbon as well as a few rhinestones.
For the focal point, I stamped the "Joseph, Mary & Baby Jesus" tag image from Star of Wonder, on stamper's select white card stock and punched it out with a 1 3/4" circle punch. It is layered on some royal velvet card stock that was die cut with a limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die (pinked edge). A bit of glitter was added to the star for some additional shine.
