Hi there!! It's Day 4 of the Papertrey Countdown and today is the first of two Group Post days! Today, we're focusing on a darling new set designed by Nichole Heady called In the Meadow. It features beautiful silhouette style wintery images and classic coordinating sentiments. I think it's safe to say that I love this stamp set. Not only are there also coordinating dies which make the design process so easy, but the images and sentiments work so well together that it's a cinch to build a beautiful wintery scene on your project and end up with a perfectly polished card.
Each of the Design Team girls chose an image that they wanted to work with. I chose the classic horse & sleigh image. Sigh.....love.
I took the above photo so that you could see just how SHIMMERY this card is!! It's soooooo shimmery in real life, but it's still really subtle when the light's not shining right on it. I started out with a rustic cream card base and I used the new Christmas tree die from the In the Meadow Silhouettes die collection to cut out a ripe avocado Christmas tree before stamping the tree image from In The Meadow, using ripe avocado ink. Both the card base and the tree were sprayed with Mister Huey's Calico Shine spray. I'm tellin' ya, that stuff is dreamy! I also stamped one of the teeny birds from In The Meadow, cut it out and adhered it to the tree.
I used the horse & sleigh die to cut out a bit of kraft card stock and stamped it with the coordinating horse & sleigh image in dark chocolate ink. I added a couple more layers of rustic cream card stock toward the bottom of the card that were both die cut with the In The Meadow dies.....they create perfect snow drifts, no? Those layers were also spritzed with Mister Huey's Calico Shine. A strip of Candy Cane Prints patterned paper was adhered just below the snow drifts.
Along the bottom of the card, I stamped the sentiment from In the Meadow, before spritzing it with more Mister Huey's. You may not be able to see it well in the photo, but the sentiment looks so pretty stamped in pure poppy ink with a hint of shimmer on top!
Next up, I have a couple of Star of Wonder cards to share with you. On this first one, I started out with a kraft card base and added a second kraft panel that was stamped with a Giga Guide Lines image, using versamark ink.
The Wise Men image from Star of Wonder was stamped on rustic cream card stock wtih berry sorbet ink and punched out with a 1 3/4" circle punch. Behind that is a pure poppy layer (limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die) and a berry sorbet layer (doily details die). A red rhinestone was added to the star.
One of the Photo Finish Strips dies was used to cut out the pure poppy sentiment strip. I stamped it with a coordinating frame image from Holiday Photo Finishers and then stamped the "Silent Night" sentiment from Star of Wonder before adding strips of red rhinestones to either side.
One more Star of Wonder card for you....on this one, I stamped two of the bracket images from Holiday Photo Finishers in pure poppy ink on the berry sorbet card base. Another Photo Finish Strips die was used to cut out the rustic cream layer here, and berry sorbet ribbon and pure poppy buttons were added to either side.
The tag image from Star of Wonder was stamped on rustic cream card stock with pure poppy ink and it was layered on a pure poppy doily that was cut out with a doily details die.
The sentiment, "Celebrate the true meaning of the season", is from Star of Wonder and was stamped in true black ink.
Before I go, I've got one more card for you......this one highlighting Christmas Poinsettia. I created an autumn rose felt poinsettia with 4 layers -- two each of the two largest layers in the Christmas Poinsettia die collection. An autumn rose button was stitched to the center of the flower to hold all of the layers together.
The flower is layered on a rustic cream doily (doily details die) and I stamped the leaves from Christmas Poinsettia directly on the lavender moon card base using versamark ink. I also splattered on a bit of Mister Huey's Calico White on the card front.
The sentiment, "Have yourself a merry little Christmas", from Christmas Poinsettia was stamped along the bottom of the card using smokey shadow ink. This card measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".
All righty, that's it for me today but I've got one more Countdown post for you tomorrow that is jam-packed with crafty goodness. I hope you'll stop back by for a visit. :)
For today, you'll want to be sure to visit each of the girls on the Design Team to see their In The Meadow projects, plus Melissa Bickford, Tiffany Pastor and Beth Silaika will have more peeks at their new sets.
