Hello there!! Welcome back to day 3 of the Papertrey Countdown. I'm so thrilled to hear from so many of you that are not only excited about my new Glory Be stamp set, but are also enjoying remembering fun/funny things your own sweet relatives used to say way back when. I've grinned from ear to ear reading some of your comments this week, so thank you for sharing with me!
For today, I've got a few more Glory Be cards to share with you, so let's get right to it!
On this first card, I knew I wanted to incorporate flowers and the Cane Print Impression Plate, because both remind me of sweet little grannies and I wanted to keep with the "granny-chic" theme behind the Glory Be stamp set. I stamped the "My, oh my" and "You're just somethin' else" sentiments from Glory Be on strips of card stock using pure poppy ink and added them to a rustic cream circle that was die cut with a limitless layers: 2 1/2" circle die that was also run thru my Big Shot with the Cane Print Impression Plate. The cream layer is adhered on top of a kraft layer that was die cut with another of the limitless layers: 2 1/2" circle dies. The butterfly and heart were die cut with one of the Love Lives Here dies and one of the tiny flower images from Table Service was stamped on the butterfly using pure poppy ink.
The bottom of the card was trimmed off using the Edgers #3 die.
The background was created by stamping that same flower image, also in pure poppy ink, on the raspberry fizz card stock base. The pattern reminds me of vintage wall paper.....perhaps with a bit of pizzazz, thanks to the bright colors. :)
Next up, a sweet little card featuring another couple of sentiments from Glory Be -- "Oh, my stars" and "Congratulations".
The Seeing Stars dies were used to cut out the two stars and harvest gold buttons were added as an accent.
On the card base, I stamped one of the new stamps from Background Basics: Circles using summer sunrise ink. On top of that is a strip of vintage book print that was die cut with the small scalloped border die, and that was topped with a strip of Distressed Dots patterned paper. A bit of dark chocolate top notch twill finished things off.
One more for today.....this one makes me laugh. "For Pete's Sake....Life is too short; eat dessert first"!! The "For Pete's Sake" sentiment comes from the Glory Be stamp set and the "Life is too short...." sentiment is from Cupcake Collection. That's the great thing about the Glory Be stamp set.....the "granny-chic" sentiments can be paired with just about any other sentiment that you may already have in your stash!! More bang for your buck.....gotta love that!
I used the cupcake collection dies to create the little cupcake and stamped them with coordinating images from the Cupcake Collection stamp set. The cupcake is layered on a kraft circle that was die cut with a limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die and that rests on top of some Dotty Biscotti patterned paper which was cut with the mat stack 3 die. I also added a small strip of hawaiian shores card stock that was cut with the new Pinking Shears die.
Along the bottom of the card is a strip of kraft card stock that was cut with one of the Edgers #1 dies.
All righty, my friends, that's it for me today. Thank you so much for sharing a bit of your day with me. I hope you're enjoying your weekend!
