Hello there!! Popping in today with all of my Studio Calico projects for this month. Have you seen Studio Calico's gorgeous new website?? Be sure to click over and check it out.....and watch the super cute video on the home page. I just love that little video!!
All righty, so on to the projects. Man, I had fun with these kits.
This first card was made with the Main kit (Brooklyn Flea) only. Well, plus the addition of some Mister Huey's Calico Shine spray and a bit of button twine.
Next up is more Brooklyn Flea goodies plus I used some twine from the Salvaged add-on kit. I also used a few Papertrey Ink dies on this one....the mat stack 2 die, limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle dies and the medium scalloped border die. After die-cutting a few circles from the striped patterned paper, I roughed up the edges with the Basic Grey precision file set and then piled all of the layers together and added that fun orange button!
One great thing about these kits, is that you can use all of the dies and punches and various tools that you've been collecting for ages to make the goodies in your kit go even farther. Like that ruler patterned paper, for instance. I LOVE that paper. You'll notice that I used a couple of different dies that I have in my stash, to add bits of that paper on both this card and the next, and yet I achieved totally different looks with that same paper! I love, LOVE pairing Studio Calico kits with Papertrey's dies! They're a match made in Heaven! (And the best part is, you probably already have lots of these dies in your own stash!)
This card features more Brooklyn Flea kit items as well as a couple of Mister Huey's spray mists in Dark Calico and Dewey and a smidge more of the twine from the Salvaged add-on.
I used a couple more Papertrey dies here.....the mat stack 4 die on the ruler paper (how much do you love that patterned paper die cut?!!) and another limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die. In fact, now that I think of it, I should die cut another bit of that patterned paper with the mat stack 4 die and make a little bookmark out of it. Happy sigh.
On this card, I used more items from Brooklyn Flea. That fun patterned layer was created with Papertrey's mega mat stack 1 die and some patterned paper from the Brooklyn Flea kit. Then, I splattered on a bit of Mister Huey's Calico White as well as some Calico Shine.
The flower and leaves were cut out of another patterned paper from the kit and I added some glitter and a button to the flower.
This next card features items from the Salvaged add-on kit as well as some aqua card stock from the Brooklyn Flea main kit. I used a limitless layers: 2 1/2" (scalloped) circle die on the green patterned paper.
I just have to point out the actual vintage card that came in this kit.....see that back layer with the handwriting on it? Notice that date in the bottom right hand corner? 1912!! How cool is that?! I love it that some of Studio Calico's kits contain actual vintage items. Makes me happy.
This little number features more Salvaged add-on kit as well as a few items from the Brooklyn Flea main......some papers (yellow & more rulers), the yellow button and the tiny text "Love" sticker. I also added a few drops of Mister Huey's spray mist in Estate Green.
Papertrey's limitless layers: 2 1/2" circle (scalloped) die was used to cut out the yellow patterned paper and then I layered an October Afternoon sticker over the top before adding the Love U elements.
Now these tags make me very happy! I couldn't wait to take one of the patterned papers from the Salvaged add-on kit, and cut it up to create these tags. They're seriously easy, because all of those button cards were originally one piece of patterned paper! I just cut them apart, piled on the embellies, punched a hole in the top and added some twine.
I also threw in some items from both the main Brooklyn Flea kit as well as the Printer's Drawer add-on.
I love that little box full of tags. They'll be so fun to tie onto gifts but just think, you could also use these as embellishments for cards or scrap layouts!
Here's a card featuring only items from the Printer's Drawer add-on. I would like to have rolls and rolls of that floral patterned paper. Wouldn't it make lovely gift wrap? :) I also added a bit of Papertrey's baker's twine here.
One more Printer's Drawer card. That's it.....just items from the Printer's Drawer add-on as well as a bit more baker's twine.
I hope you've enjoyed these Studio Calico cards!! Do you have a favorite?
I'll be back tomorrow with Papertrey's Senior Design Team Challenge. Can't wait to show you what I've whipped up for that!
I've also made a little progress on my first crochet project. I have no idea what I'm making. lol. Mostly I just wanted to practice chain stitching and then adding rows. You can check out my twitter feed for tweets about my progress yesterday as well as a photo of my "project" so far. I use the term "project" quite loosely, since I don't even know what I'm making. Haha! Anyway, let's just say the picture and accompanying tweets might be a bit entertaining for you. :)
Have a great day, Friends! Chat with you again tomorrow!
