It's time for another Favorite Things post!! I haven't done one of these in awhile, so I figured it was about time! A dear reader mentioned missing these posts and another asked about what hand cream I use, all in the same day, and just like that, we had the beginnings of a Favorite Things post coming together. :)
So first up, I have to tell you about these new boots I just got -- yesterday, to be exact! They're the Marlenne boot by Easy Spirit. I don't know what that weird diagonal line is on the left boot in the photo....that line isn't on my boots. (I got the photo from Zappos site) But anyway, they're this really great taupe-ish/gray-ish color......very versatile! And now let me get to the best part -- I got them for a steal online on Black Friday and they arrived yesterday. Even better news is that while they're not on *quite* as much of a sale right now as they were when I bought them, they're still a REALLY good deal at the Easy Spirit website. They are $149 riding boots on sale for $59.99! (60% off!) PLUS free shipping PLUS it looks like if you order two items, you get another 20% off your entire purchase! Score! I can tell you that they're very cute and comfy in person. I love the rubber sole and specifically wanted a flat riding boot, which will come in handy when I walk Windsor in the snow and ice this winter. No slipping and sliding. :) Plus, won't these look cute with a skirt and tights + knee socks?
So to answer the question about what hand cream I use, I have to highly, HIGHLY recommend Avon's Moisture Therapy hand cream. The Moisture Therapy line consists of a variety of different items, but the hand cream is my absolute favorite. In the winter, my hands can sometimes get extremely dry, particularly around my knuckles. However, I've been using Moisture Therapy hand cream for literally YEARS (like 15 or 20) because it's the only one I've found that kicks that dryness completely. It's awesome. Now, if you don't have very, very dry skin on your hands, this hand cream might be too thick for you. But if you struggle with dry skin in the winter, give this a try. This keeps my hands in top form all winter long!
I also like the Moisture Therapy lip balm for chapped lips. It's good stuff.
The Farm Chicks Christmas by Serena Thompson
Ok, so I've totally told you about this book before but it's so, so good that it bears repeating! This book is filled with gorgeous photos and ideas for decorating, tree trimming, entertaining, gift-giving and wrapping as well as some holiday recipes! And after you've perused it about a zillion times, it's a beautiful coffee table book to leave laying out for others to read as well. I look forward to pulling this book out every year now....I love it so.
Plus you can read Serena's gorgeous blog and follow her on Twitter. She couldn't be sweeter!
Also, before I go, I wanted to tell you about a couple of new Christmas movies I've seen lately on the Hallmark Channel. Both of these are new this year, and are totally worth dvr-ing, if you haven't seen them yet! Very good, fun Christmas movies that aren't too sappy/cheesy. They're just right!
Debbie Macomber's Trading Christmas
And if you miss them on tv, I think you can download them on iTunes. I know Trading Christmas is available on iTunes right now and I believe A Princess For Christmas is coming on tv tomorrow (Friday) night. You can view their whole schedule here.
So that's it for today....just a few of my favorite things right now.
Hope you're having a great day!
