Hey there! So, sometimes if Windsor's a naughty boy, he gets a time out. For him, it's a fate worse than death. You could yell at him, or spank his hiney....he'd prefer that any day of the week, to a time out. He hates time out. See, time out means that I put his leash on him and then hook the end of the leash over the bannister and he has to stay in that one spot (as far as the leash will let him reach) for a few minutes........by himself. Oh, the horror. For a lab puppy who loves to be around people, it's the ultimate punishment. Heehee. Soooo....there are two bannisters in this house -- one at the bottom of the stairs and one leading from the kitchen into the family room. Both work as time out spots, depending on where we are. The key is to make sure to keep an eye (or ear) on him, you know...so he doesn't chew the bannister up or something.....while still putting him far enough away that he gets the point that he's in trouble.
So the other day, he walked out of the studio and I did what I always do. I immediately told him to come back in here with mama. No response. Yes, I realize I could have put the baby gate up to keep him contained in the studio, but he does like to lay right out in the hallway and I'm totally ok with that, as long as I can see him. But the little stinker was out of sight, and that *could* mean trouble.
I got up out of the chair and walked around the corner and this is what I saw when I looked down the stairs!!
The goofy little boy has decided that he kind of likes laying on the landing at the bottom of the stairs, in one of the time out spots! Soooo, I'm thinking that a time out in that location is going to be slightly less effective now! Haha. When I'm eating breakfast, he'll go lay on the landing by himself. Just because. When I eat lunch, he goes and lays there. On his own. Silly puppy! I can't argue with him.....at least I know where he is and he's not getting into any trouble!
I snapped this one the other morning with my phone. Sweet boy.....it's pretty cute to see him laying there. It's his own cozy little corner. Makes me smile.
Anywho, lots going on in the studio these days, in preparation for Papertrey's anniversary festivities! Gonna be fun!!
