Hi there!
Today, over at Nichole Heady's blog, she's introducing you to each of the 2012 Stamp Designers at Papertrey and she's also asked us to share what is the favorite stamp set that we've designed so far. We've also each created a free graphic for you to use!! Create a card using one of the free graphics, and get entered to win today's contest.....and the prize? Each of the stamp designers' favorite stamp sets!
My favorite stamp set that I've designed so far, I think would have to be Background Basics: Newsprint. Why, that one? Because it's super versatile -- it goes with just about anything and can be adapted to fit a wide variety of personal styles. It looks SO cool when stamped in smokey shadow on rustic cream card stock and distressed with vintage touch tea dye ink! (see above - hee!) And it has sentimental significance to me because of the "articles" I wrote for the newsprint and the family names and important-to-me dates that I was able to incorporate into the set.
I put a little card together to share with you today, using Background Basics: Newsprint, as well as the free graphic I've designed for you to use!
I die cut the bottom edge of the rustic cream card with an Edgers die and then stamped it with Background Basics: Newsprint in smokey shadow ink before inking the edges with vintage touch tea dye ink. Next, I added a raspberry fizz Half & Half die cut that was stamped with a decorative image from Celebrations (notice that it coordinates with the same image on the freebie!) A berry sorbet layer was die cut with the Celebrations die and stamped with one of the coordinating label images from the set. On top of that is some pure poppy card stock die cut with a limitless layers: 2 1/4" oval die and on top of that is a berry sorbet circle die cut topped with the freebie graphic.
The half & half layer was stitched just under the "headline" and a pure poppy button was added for a finishing touch. (That button is GORGEOUS in real life -- it totally looks like a shiny lifesaver! Ha!)
All righty, be sure to head over to Nichole's blog to read today's stamp designer introductions and to download your copy of all of the free graphics you can use for today's contest! I can't wait to see the birthday cards you'll create with this freebie!! I hope you like it!
Have a great day and I'll see you back here again tomorrow!
