Hey there, Peeps! (Sorry, I couldn't resist, what with the Easter theme and all!) :)
Anywho, it's time for the first of two Design Team group posts this month at Papertrey Ink, and today, we're focusing on two different stamp sets.....Scrambled Eggs designed by Heather Nichols and Sweet Spring designed by Lisa Johnson. Scrambled Eggs is a companion set to the previously released Egg Hunt stamp set and coordinates with the Egg die, however there is also a new die available with this release that coordinates with the egg basket image in Scrambled Eggs.
As for Sweet Spring, it's a follow-up set to the previously released Christmas Labels stamp set and coordinates with the Christmas Label die. Let's get right to today's projects...
When trying to decide which egg I wanted to use on a card, I quickly decided that I couldn't decide (smile).....so why not use them all? I started out with a sweet blush card base measuring 6" x 3.5" when folded. I added some of the bitty dot paper from the new Rasperry Fizz pattern pack and rounded the bottom two corners with a corner chomper. Can I just tell you how much I LOVE these two sentiments that Heather included in this set??? I stamped the "hippity hoppity" and "easter's on its way" on two small strips of rustic cream card stock and stitched them to the card front. Is the song running thru your head like it is mine? :)
The various eggs from Scrambled Eggs were stamped on die cut eggs and adhered to the card front....some with regular adhesive and some with foam adhesive to give a bit of dimension. A few pearls were added to the raspberry fizz egg.
How cute are the bunny and Easter basket? I think, if I'm honest, they're my favorite eggs. But let's not tell the others. I stamped the bunny egg and used the new bunny ears die to cut out his ears. The bunny egg was adhered with foam adhesive, while the ears were adhered with just a bit of scor-tape right at the base of the ears, so that I could fluff them forward a bit. As for that sweet little Easter basket, I stamped the flowers from Scrambled Eggs on an egg die cut. Next, I die cut the new Easter basket egg from kraft card stock and stamped the coordinating basket image with kraft ink. Both layers were adhered with foam adhesive, so that the basket pops out from the front of the card, a smidge farther than all of the other elements. A bit of baker's twine and a rhinestone finished things off.
Next, I made a little gift tag, perfect for a just because gift for a friend this spring using Lisa's Sweet Spring stamp set. The tag was die cut with the tag sale #5 die and tucked behind it is a doily details die cut that was cut from more of the new Raspberry Fizz pattern pack paper. On the tag, I stamped the "welcome spring" sentiment from Sweet Spring, as well as the flower trio. Rhinestones were added to the centers of the flowers and a teeny butterfly from Sweet Spring was stamped, cut out and adhered with foam adhesive. One of the oval images from Sweet Spring was stamped and then cut out with pinking sheers, before being topped with some raspberry fizz buttons.
I hope you've enjoyed today's springy post! Be sure to visit each of the girls on the design team to see their springtime projects today too, and don't forget to play along in the scavenger hunt (see my photo at the top of this post)! You can get all of the details on Nichole's blog! Happy counting!
