Time for another installment of My Favorite Things!
Have you seen this washi tape at Target yet? Yes, I said Target!! Not only is it at Target and not only is it stinkin' cute, but it's also dirt cheap!! $4 for a package of 4 rolls! You can't beat $1 for a roll of washi.....plus, I just love how 'basic' (read: super versatile) the patterns are, and the colors? Well.....I'm smitten. You can, of course, use washi tape in paper crafting, but they're also great for adding some fun color to envelopes and gift packaging!
There are actually four different color groups....our Target didn't have the yellow/orange combo. Insert sad face. However, my super sweet friend, Kinsey, got me the yellow/orange group at her Target and sent them too me. Awww. So nice, that girl. Love her!
OH....if you go to look for it at your Target, it's in the office supply section right next to the sticky notes. There is a whole section of color coordinated office supplies that match the washi. Happy hunting and welcome to the washi craze! LOL.
Next up is a new base coat for your nails that I recently discovered and I'm SOLD on it! You apply a coat of this first, followed by two coats of your chosen polish color and then I top it off with a top coat. Now, I have to tell you that my normal manicure lasts 3 days. That's it. Just 3. But with this Seche Base coat?? My mani lasts 1-2 days extra! That's a 4 or 5 day manicure, people! This is big! Haha. Every extra day I get out of a manicure means less time I have to spend polishing again to make them look nice all over again....and that to me, is a very good thing! I want my nails to look nice, but I don't want to have to paint them every other day in order for them to look good. KWIM?
I will tell you that the first coat of color that you put on over the top of the Seche Base, goes on really streaky and weird looking. But I think it's because the polish is sort of 'grabbing' the base to stick to it better. Not to worry though, because once you put the second coat of color on, everything should smooth out nicely and be ready for your top coat.
I bought this at Beauty Brands for about $7.
While I was at Beauty Brands, I also took advantage of their 'buy 2, get 1 free' sale on China Glaze polish. I haven't used all of my new colors yet, so for today, I thought I'd show you the one I have used -- it's called For Audrey. (Special thanks to Kristina for recommending this color to me!) I really, really like this color for spring. It's not too bright or crazy or neon or anything like that, but it's still really fun and something out of the ordinary for me.
Oh, and for what it's worth, the sale at Beauty Brands runs thru the 24th or something like that (I don't remember the exact date the sales girl told me) so you should still have some time to snag some new spring colors for yourself while they're on sale!
Before I go, and since we've been talking about washi, did you know that there nearly 100 different washi tapes in the store at Two Peas? It's true!
View all washi at Two Peas here

You can even buy them in groups, like this adorable set from Hambly...
I don't have any of these yet, from Two Peas, but they're pretty darn cute. I thought I'd share them in case you're pining for that Target washi but don't have a Target near you. You can always order some washi online. ;)
Hope you have a wonderful day! It's back to the crafty table for me.....I've been having all kinds of fun with the new Studio Calico kits -- see a sneak peek here! (Can you spot my card?) Will be sharing these projects soon!
Smooches,
