Hello again!!
Well, it's day 4 of the Papertrey Countdown. Are you enjoying this month's festivities? Got any favorite new products you're anxiously awaiting?
For today, I thought I'd start things off by showing you some fun little treat bags Iwhipped up for my family for Easter. This year, our get together was pretty small....just 7 of us and no "littles" {insert sad face} but I decided grown ups like treats too and therefore, I bought some Easter candy and made treat bags for everyone! :)
I put one Reese's peanut butter egg and several speckled malted milk eggs in each medium glassine bag and then die cut a piece of hawaiian shores card stock with a half and half die which I then stitched right to the top of the bag, when sewing the bag closed.
Over the top of the stitching, I added a snippet of washi tape (Target) and over that, added a threaded hawaiian shores button.
The tag from Tagged Sentiments (Just a little something 4 you) was stamped using aqua mist ink on rustic cream card stock and both circle layers were cut out with a limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die. I love, love how cute these turned out and just so you know (because I timed myself), I whipped up all 5 of these little bags in 30 minutes! Not too shabby!
Just think of what great party favors these would make! Or wedding favors....or gifts for teachers.....or a special little something for your family or a co-worker....the list goes on!
Next up is a card featuring another sentiment from Tagged Sentiments....I love this one. I can see myself using this one a lot.
The card base is rustic cream card stock and over that, I added a layer of pure poppy card stock with foam adhesive. Along the bottom of the pure poppy panel is a strip of dotted paper from the new Smokey Shadow Pattern Pack that was die cut with the medium scalloped border die and around that, I tied a bow from vintage cream grosgrain ribbon.
The sentiment from Tagged Sentiments was stamped on a mat stack 3 die cut. Below the sentiment, I added some flowers that were cut from pure poppy felt with the Notched Flowers dies (I only used the small and medium dies here). A bit of poppy baker's twine and some smokey shadow buttons finished the flowers off. More Smokey Shadow pattern pack paper was used to cut out out the leaves (Turning a New Leaf die).
On this last card, I got a little artsy and paint splatter-y. :) It's fun to change things up now and again.
I started off with a berry sorbet card base and ran it thru the vagabond with the woodgrain impression plate. Then, I splattered on some Mister Huey's spray mists in Passport, Sunset and Boss Lady.
The tag from Tagged Sentiments was stamped in berry sorbet ink and layered on a melon berry die cut circle. A bit of hawaiian shores saddle stitch ribbon is peeking out of the bottom and the entire tag is layered on some paper from the Smokey Shadow pattern pack. A few Prima crystals finished things off nicely.
I'm off for now, but Nichole Heady and Maile Belles have lots more to share with you today! Plus, Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford and Lexi Daly will all be showing you additional peeks at their newest stamp sets so be sure to check that out!
I hope you'll join me again tomorrow for another day of Countdown projects!
See you soon,
