Hello there!
Well, it's the first of MAY if you can believe it, and that brings with it another Senior Design Team Challenge at Papertrey Ink. This month, Nichole asked us to pull out the Button Bits stamp set of our choosing and whip up a little something to share with you. I can never resist Blooming Button Bits, so that's what I chose to work with. For the color combo though, I stepped a bit outside my comfort zone and went very orange and yellow....something I don't normally do, but I love the end result!
To get started, I stamped some flowers and leaves on a rustic cream card stock panel using simply chartreuse, harvest gold and summer sunrise inks. I also stamped some extra leaves as well as some larger flowers (orange zest & harvest gold inks) and cut them out with paper snips. (Can you believe that? I actually had to cut them out. With scissors! Like back in the olden days on Little House on the Prairie! Haaaaaaaa. How spoiled we've become, what with the lovely invention of dies!) :)
Anyhoo, next I stamped some Background Basics: Newsprint over the top of the flowers on the cream panel, using Fine Linen ink.
After that, I added my hand cut items....some with foam adhesive and some with regular adhesive, just to change things up a little and add some dimension. Then came the buttons, most of them threaded with rustic jute button twine.
Lastly, I stamped the sentiment (which seemed verrry appropriate!) on a die cut strip of harvest gold card stock (double ended banner die), using orange zest ink. Before adhering the sentiment strip to the card, I added a couple strips of washi tape (from Target)....such a cool look, with the text peeking thru the washi.
All righty, that's it for me today but the other girls on the Senior Team have projects to share with you so be sure to visit each one of them so you don't miss out!
