Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, the design team is focusing on a cute new stamp set designed by Heather Nichols, titled Summer Camp. It centers around all things campy, and I had fun using it to put together a little ensemble to give to my youngest sister. She'll be working at a summer camp this summer and lately she's gotten into a bit of scrapbooking, so I put together a little 9 x 6 scrapbook for her to take to camp, complete with blank pages ready for her to add her photos to. I also whipped up a little set of note cards she can use to write home with.....or perhaps to send her dear oldest sister a note!! Ha.
For the scrapbook, I used a blank notebook from Creative Imaginations and simply decorated the front and precut and hole-punched some papers & card stock to go inside. That way, she can scrapbook the inside however she'd like, but she's got a color coordinated "base" to get her started.
She loves yellow, so the new Summer Sunrise pattern pack was my jumping off point for this entire project. I adhered a piece of the striped paper to the cover, as well as lots of stamped die cuts. The largest layer there, is Dearest Jane patterned paper die cut with the wine bottle tag die, followed by hawaiian shores card stock die cut with my favorite of the Half & Half dies. The tiny star (from Summer Camp) at the bottom of the hawaiian shores layer was stamped using dark chocolate ink. Just above that, I added a torn strip of washi tape (office supply section at Target) and over that, added a rustic cream layer that was die cut using one of the new Rounded Labels dies and stamped with the coordinating frame image from Summer Camp, as well as the cute "happy camper" sentiment. Next, I stamped a tiny camera from Summer Camp and cut it out, adhering it to the label. Note: I kept all of the layers very flat (no foam adhesive) so that when the book gets used and handled, it's less likely those layers will come off.
Topping the focal panel is the "Adventure & Explore" tag from Summer camp, layered on a dark chocolate limitless layers die cut.
In the lower left corner of the cover, I stamped little footprints (from Summer Camp) and added a couple strips of washi tape as well as a couple more hand-cut cameras.
Making her a set of coordinating note cards was a cinch because I used many of the same design elements that are on the cover of her scrapbook. I simply swapped out the sentiment!
I used a different Summer Sunrise pattern on each of the note cards: dots, bitty dots and stripes.
The "Miss you so much" sentiment is from the new Fillable Frames Sentiments stamp set....it was perfect for these note cards. I'm sure Glory (my little sis) will want to use one to let me know how much she's missing me while she's gone! LOL! (Hi, Glory!) (Always good to throw that in, just in case she reads this. Hahaha.)
One last detail I added to the tag image.....I stamped the new Crackled stamp right over the top of the tag, using fine linen ink. This is SUCH a cool detail in real life!! It's totally not a stamp I would have thought I needed, but I can see adding this over the top of lots of different images for a very cool effect. And the best part is, it's only $5 for that stamp! Hurray!
All righty, dear friends, be sure to head over to see all of the other girls' Summer Camp projects!
