Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, the entire design team is showcasing a new set of products designed by Nichole Heady that all center around the super popular sunburst theme that's been popping up all over the place lately! She's designed a fun stamp set called Hello Sunshine as well as coordinating dies and a Sunrise impression plate.
For today's projects, we're each sharing a photo that inspired a pair of cards, one designed using the Hello Sunshine stamp set and one using a similar design and color scheme but incorporating the Sunrise impression plate. The photo above, is the one I chose as my inspiration piece. I love the sunshiney feel of the photo and love the creams and yellows and browns with a pop of turquoise. It was those elements that I chose to incorporate into my cards.....
Here's the pair of them together. Similar, but each with a unique feel.
For the first card, I stamped the sentiments "Hiya" and "Sunshine" from Hello Sunshine using summer sunrise ink and then used the Sunrise impression plate to emboss the entire card front. The impression plate has the sun's rays centered off to the left, so that's where I put my focal point. Easy peasy.
I used a doily details die to cut out the summer sunrise layer followed by a couple of limitless layers dies for the dark chocolate and hawaiian shores circles. Lastly, I used a circle die from the Hello Sunshine die collection, to cut out some rustic cream card stock which I then stamped with a circles image from Hello Sunshine. Topping the circles is a threaded dark chocolate button.
Next up, I stamped the dashed lines sun ray image from Hello Sunshine, using summer sunrise ink. I positioned everything off to the left just like on the first card. After stamping the rays, I stamped the sentiment from Hello Sunshine using dark chocolate ink.
I used the same dies here....doily details, limitless layers and hello sunshine. I just changed up the order of the colors. The top circle was stamped with a different circle image from Hello Sunshine, as well as a sort of starburst image, from the same set. A dark chocolate button finished things off again.
Don't you just love that sentiment? :) Words to live by, if ever I heard some!
So while I was feeling sunshiney, I decided to pair up another sun rays image -- dotted lines, this time -- with my We Go Together stamp set. How perfect is this sentiment with a sunshine-themed card?!!
I started over on the right by stamping the sun rays image once placing the point of the image right in the center of the card and then just lined the image up again and again, stamping each one right next to the one before it. The ink colors, starting on the right, go as follows....
Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile, Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst
So, of course, I had to incorporate some Background Basics: Sheet Music......I mean, come on! Aren't you singing the song in your head every time you read that sentiment?! :) I die cut some stamper's select white card stock with the limitless layers: 1 3/4" circle die and stamped it with Background Basics: Sheet Music using true black ink. Next, I used several of the new dies and stamps from the Lovely Layers collection to create that happy little flower! The larger flower was stamped with summer sunrise and orange zest inks, and the smaller flower was stamped with raspberry fizz and hibiscus burst inks. The leaves were also created using a Lovely Layers die and stamps, however the die actually cuts a cluster of 4 "leaves" all together in a medallion shape. I just tore them apart after stamping them, to create some small leaves to accent my little flower.
The sentiment from We Go Together was stamped on the card base using true black ink.
Next up is a simple little card that packs a lot of punch. I started out with some Guide Lines Grid card stock for the card base. I love using that card stock as a card base because those soft gray grid lines really do add just the right amount of extra detail to the background.
I stamped the mat stack 4 image from Modern Wood Mats on the card base using aqua mist ink. Next, I die cut a frame and flower using the Pretty Peonies dies, and then stamped them with coordinating images....the frame in dark chocolate ink, and the flower in pure poppy and new leaf.
The sentiment is another from We Go Together and was stamped using dark chocolate ink.
One more for you today.....this one is a very different color scheme, but I was going for the colors of grape jelly to coordinate with the sentiment! Hee!
The card base is rustic cream card stock and I added a layer of winter wisteria card stock that was stamped with two different decorative circle images from the Table Service stamp set, as well as the small flower from Table Service. I alternated the inks on the background, using both winter wisteria and plum pudding.
The placemat die from the Table Service die collection was used to hold the sentiment which was stamped in winter wisteria ink and I couldn't resist adding the knife and fork images from Table Service on either side of the sentiment. They're stamped in smokey shadow ink.
Lastly, a strip of royal velvet card stock was added as well as a strip of plum pudding card stock that was die cut using the small Edgers #1 die.
All righty, crew....that's it for me today, but you'll want to be sure to bop around to see all of the design team girls' Hello Sunshine projects!
