Hi there!
I'm so happy you could join me today! It's the first day of the Papertrey Countdown, where you'll be getting peeks at all of the new releases coming out on June 15. I've got lots to share with you this week, including the introduction of my new We Go Together stamp set! We Go Together is a collection of unique sentiments that are stylish and fun! They're the perfect addition to images you may already have in your stamping stash, but they're also sized to be able to stand alone as the focal point on your card. I thought we'd start things off today, with a card featuring the sentiment you got a peek at a few days ago....
I couldn't resist pairing this sentiment with an umbrella from the Scattered Showers stamp set! Fun, no? I die cut the umbrella with a Scattered Showers die and then stamped it with the topper in hawaiian shores ink and the handle in smokey shadow ink. I also used a Cloud die to cut a cloud from soft stone card stock. All of the edges are inked with vintage touch tea die ink. I also added a strip of scalloped smokey shadow patterned paper to ground everything.
In keeping with the "rain/clouds" theme, I was excited to include the new Background Basics: Rainbows on the aqua mist background! Isn't it fun?! I stamped the scalloped layer with hawaiian shores ink and then stamped the little rainbows layer with soft stone ink. I love the effect I was able to achieve by using two different ink colors on yet a third color of card stock! Such a pretty combo!
Besides another We Go Together sentimet, this next card also features a couple of other new products from this release. Firstly, the Hexagon cover plate! I ran it thru my Vagabond with rubber mats behind the card stock so that it didn't cut the card stock, but rather, impressed it with the hexagon pattern. Doesn't it look so striking just as it is??? You could totally use this without adding anything else to the background! But that's not what I did today. Haha...
Here's a look at the finished card...
The sentiment from We Go Together -- "Thinking of you today and smiling" -- is stamped on a limitless layers: 2 1/4" oval die cut. I stamped the sentiment in pure poppy ink and added a little bee from the Honey Bees stamp set, using berry sorbet ink. In the bottom right hand corner of the card base, I stamped a little flower image from the new Happy Hexagons stamp set, using pure poppy ink.
I used one the dotted lines hexagon image from Happy Hexagons, to stamp a little hexagon border inside each hexie, using berry sorbet ink on the berry sorbet card stock. Then, I went back in and stamped a cute little bee from Honey Bees, inside each hexagon using versamark ink. It's hard to tell in the photo, but the subtle difference in inks for the bees and borders makes for such a pretty background overall.
One more for you today.....this one also using We Go Together and Happy Hexagons.
This sentiment is from We Go Together and is stamped in hawaiian shores ink on a die cut....another new product release this month!! (Stay tuned to Nichole's blog this week for more info!)
On the background panel of rustic cream card stock, I stamped a random pattern of hexagons using several different images from Happy Hexagons in raspberry fizz, hawaiian shores, new leaf and summer sunrise inks. What a cheery little background, wouldn't you say?
That's all I've got to share with you today, but Nichole Heady and Ashley Newell will be showing you lots more using We Go Together, plus Betsy Veldman and Danielle Flanders will be helping to introduce a few more brand new products from this month's release! Melissa Bickford will also be showing you a peek or two at her newest stamp sets! There's lots of Papertrey inspiration to take in today, so be sure to visit each of these girls!
I hope you're having a fabulous day!
See you again tomorrow!
