Hi there!!! It's Day 2 of the Papertrey Countdown and I'm so glad you're here! Thank you for sharing your excitement over my new We Go Together stamp set! I've got a few more peeks to show you today. All of the new products (including We Go Together) that you'll be seeing during the Countdown will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on June 15.)
I have to say, this first card was a fun one to make! I started out with a hibiscus burst card base and ran it thru the Vagabond with the chicken wire impression plate.
In the upper right corner, I added a little flag that is stamped with a sentiment from We Go Together!! I love this one! :)
To make that flag, I used the tag sale #5 die and stamped the sentiment in the bottom center of the tag die cut, and then simply trimmed down the top and sides. This is a great wayt to create little flags in any size you need....custom cut to fit whatever sentiment you're working with and you still get the perfect die cut edge along the bottom.
Ahhhh...and how about the focal point? There are so many little details here that make me smile. Firstly, there are a couple die cuts here, that you'll have to keep an eye out for more info about, this week, at Nichole Heady's blog! I used the sunrise/ground images from On the Farm, stamping the ground on the bottom portion of the square die cut, using dark chocolate ink. I stamped the sunrise image on the top portion of the square -- leaving a space in the middle of the square -- using hibiscus burst ink. I dabbed my summer sunrise ink pad around the edges of the sunrise image (over the hibiscus burst ink) before I stamped it, giving it that cool orange fade to the color! I love how that turned out!
Then, I used dark chocolate ink to stamp the two little flourishes from On the Farm, in the blank space. These sort of serve as leaves for the flower and anchor it, visually. The flower was die cut from vintage book print with the Beautiful Blooms II dies and they're adhered together with a brad from My Mind's Eye.
Along the bottom of the card, I added a strip of rustic cream card stock that was stamped with Background Basics: Farm & Barn.
Next up is another card featuring Background Basics: Rainbows, that you got your first peeks at yesterday.
This is how the pattern started out.....hawaiian shores scallops stamped on rustic cream card stock. Looks pretty awesome just like that, right? (I love this new stamp set! Haha!)
But look how cool it looks -- and how different! -- after stamping the little rainbows in the spaces using new leaf ink. Happy sigh. That Nichole Heady sure knows how to design gorgeous stamp sets, doesn't she? :)
So back to the card....
I used the mat stack 4 die to cut out some rustic cream card stock and stamped it with another sentiment from We Go Together. Isn't this a fun one??? :) I stamped it a second time using hawaiian shores ink and cut out the 'my coffee' banner and adhered it over the back layer.
The background panel is layered on a new leaf card base.
Ok, so one more today. This one started out with a rustic cream card base. I inked the edges with vintage touch tea dye ink.
In the bottom corner of the card, I stamped the sentiment from We Go Together using pure poppy ink.
On the card base, I stamped Background Basics: Medallions using hibiscus burst and pure poppy inks. Next, I die cut a couple more squares (new product this month!) and stamped a small flower from Rosie Posie on the square, also in hibiscus burst ink. The Rosie Posie dies were used to cut out the flower and leaves.
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects!! I can't wait to hear what you think of We Go Together so far!
Today, you'll want to head over to see Nichole Heady and Heather Nichols for today's product introductions! Plus, Melissa Bickford will have another peek or two at her newest stamp sets!
Thanks so much for sharing a part of your day with me!
Have a goodie!
