Hi there and welcome! It's Day 3 of the Papertrey Countdown and I've got lots more Signature Greetings II to share with you today. (Signature Greetings II will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on July 15 at 10pm EST.)
For today's projects, I couldn't resist pairing Signature Greetings II with another new stamp set being introduced to you today, over at Nichole Heady's blog. It's a set that she designed herself and I absolutely adore it!! Dare I say, this might just be the 'new Rosie Posie'?!! That's how much I love this set!! It's called The Sweet Life and it pairs perfectly with Signature Greetings II!! I can't seem to stop stamping with it. How about if I just show you.... :)
The flowers in The Sweet Life remind me of gorgeous Heather Bailey fabrics -- which are completely swoon-worthy themselves -- so it makes stamping with this set soooo fun. And the beauty of it is you can pair it with Signature Greetings II for about a gazillion card options!! The flowers in The Sweet Life were designed for three-step stamping, wherein you stamp the first layer in a light color, then the second layer in a darker color and the top layer in the darkest color, to achieve perfect shading every time. The leaves are just two-step stamping, but you'd use the same idea.
So for this first card, I stamped the flowers in sweet blush, hibiscus burst and pure poppy inks. Man, I love that combo! The leaves were stamped in simply chartreuse and ripe avocado inks. Along the bottom of the cream panel, I added a strip of hibiscus burst card stock that was die cut with the heart border die. A bit of pure poppy baker's twine was tied around the panel and behind the flowers, is a piece of bitty dot patterned paper from the pure poppy pattern pack.
The "Happy Birthday to you" sentiment from Signature Greetings II was stamped in true black ink. In the upper right corner of the cream panel, I added a snippet of hibiscus burst satin ribbon, topped with a threaded pure poppy button.
I've had the idea of green flowers buzzing around in my head for awhile now and couldn't wait to put the idea to use on this next card. (I also can't wait to do this again with a very neutral color palette behind the green flowers....wouldn't that be pretty?!)
I stamped the flowers in spring moss, new leaf and ripe avocado inks and then stamped the leaves in simply chartreuse and ripe avocado inks. They were all cut out with the new The Sweet Life dies and they're sitting on a piece of spring moss card stock that was die cut with the mat stack 3 die.
The sentiment -- I love you, I really do. -- from Signature Greetings II was stamped using ripe avocado ink and fits so nicely on the mat stack 3 die cut. Along the bottom of the new leaf card base, I added a strip of striped paper from the simply chartreuse pattern pack and topped it with a simple knot tied from new leaf grosgrain. The final touch was a few moss rhinestones.
One more for today.....I wanted to show you how fun it is to create your own background pattern with the small flowers from The Sweet Life!
I stamped these with aqua mist and hawaiian shores inks as well as simply chartreuse and ripe avocado on the leaves. I love how it sort of has a vintage wallpaper feel.
For the sentiment strip, I stamped a couple of sentiments....."Age is just a number" from Signature Greetings II (in hawaiian shores ink) and "Happy Birthday" from Birthday Basics (in ripe avocado ink). I kept the rest of the card very simple, so that allowed me to pull out a great big aqua mist button to finish off the sentiment strip. It sort of looks like my card is wearing a very cute belt! Haha.
All righty, that's all I've got to share with you today but you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady's blog as well as Melissa Phillips for lots more peeks at The Sweet Life!
Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford and Maile Belles will also have peeks for you at their newest stamp sets.
Thanks so much for spending a bit of your day with me!! I hope you're enjoying the Countdown so far! Are you getting excited about Signature Greetings II? And what about The Sweet Life? You know I'd love to hear from you!
Have a great day,
