Hi there! It's Day 3 of the Papertrey Countdown which means there's lots more fun in store today. I'm thrilled to hear your excitement about Foodie Fun and Background Basics: Herringbone! But we're not done yet..... ;)
(All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on August 15 at 10pm EST.)
For this first card, I started out with a berry sorbet card base and added a rustic cream panel that was stamped with Background Basics: Herringbone. If you take a close look at the first photo (up at the top of the post) you can see just how wide the herringbone strip is in Background Basics: Herringbone. I stamped it only once on this card!!!
I the upper right corner, I added a vintage cream die cut (Fabulous Frames die) and stamped it with the birthday sentiment from Enjoy the Ride. A thin strip of dark chocolate card stock serves as a little accent for the sentiment.
I added several die cut flowers from Pretty Peonies as well as a strip of dark chocolate grosgrain ribbon. As you can see, the flowers are at varying heights, achieved simply by adding different thicknesses of foam adhesive. And the flower over on the right, has the single flower image layered over the flower w/leaves image for an extra bit of dimension.
Now, how about a fun gift tag!! Heeeee........look at that chocolate bar! I added a thin strip of torn aluminum foil for an added touch! The aluminum foil was torn by hand, bunched up a little, wrapped around the chocolate bar and taped on the back side! FUN!
The tag itself was cut from pure poppy card stock with the Tag Sale #4 die. On top of that is a rustic cream layer that was stamped with a limitless layers: 2 1/2" circle die. The frame and "enjoy" sentiment are both from the new Think Big Favorites #19 stamp set. The other sentiment, "From one foodie to another" is from Foodie Fun. The chocolate bar was stamped with dark chocolate and pure poppy ink.
Foodie Fun lets you easily create all sorts of foodie gift tags to tie on to any sort of food gift! Giving a friend a bit of chocolate to brighten her day? Custom foodie gift tag! Taking dinner to a family with a new baby? Foodie gift tag! Simply swap out the chocolate bar for one of the other images in Foodie Fun -- the stock pot, perhaps. Giving a Christmas gift of food, whether store-bought or home made? Foodie gift tag! Haha. Do you see a pattern forming here? :)
And now, I'd like to show you another new Raspberry Suite product coming out this month.....the Herringbone impression plate!!
The pattern is oriented vertically on one side of the plate and horizontally on the other. Can you see how gorgeous the pattern is when imprinted on the card stock?! I'm thrilled with the results! So much texxxture!
So here's a card for you, with that Herringbone impression plate in action!
This could, of course, be used all year long, but we're coming into a major season of giving with Thanksgiving and Christmas fast approaching. And I don't know about you, but we get gifts of food every year, from one person or another. So this sentiment combo will be perfect for sending thank you notes!
The two flourish images are from my Gratitude Journal stamp set and they were stamped in canyon clay ink on the mat stack 5 die cut. The "From one foodie to another" sentiment is, again, from Foodie Fun. The "Thanks" and the "for the wonderful gift" sentiments are all from the new Thanks All Ways stamp set.
On the canyon clay half & half die cut, I stamped the little 'steam' image from Foodie Fun and then added a little pie image (also from Foodie Fun)! The pie top and pie plate are two different images, so you can stamp them both in separate colors easily. Man, for some reason I've been very hungry all week long!! I wonder why that is?? LOL.
I hope you've enjoyed today's Foodie Fun, Background Basics: Herringbone and Herringbone impression plate projects! I'd love to hear from you....feel free to leave a note in the comments section!
