'Tis the season to start making gift tags! Haha. It's no secret that I've long been a fan of making my own gift tags, but have you ever made a set of gift tags to give as a gift? They're something everyone uses when wrapping gifts, so they're a very practical little gift, but they're also economical to make and the recipient is sure to appreciate the thoughtfulness of a hand made gift that they can actually use! You can whip up a set of tags in no time, as well as some darling, coordinating packaging to put them in, and you've got the perfect little gift for a teacher, your favorite barista at the coffee shop, the mail lady, or anyone else you need a sweet little gift for!
It's as easy as just a few simple steps to whip these up -- you can make a set of gift tags in an hour or two.....and I'll bet you'll have fun while you're at it! :)
Better yet, make a set for you and a set to give away, and double your production without having to double your time!
To get started, I gathered a few basic supplies and went ahead and die cut several items, all from rustic cream card stock....5 pinecone clusters (Peaceful Pinecones die), 4 tags (Tag Sale #5 die) and one pillow box (Essential Pillow Box die). I also grabbed some strips of patterned papers (Candy Cane Christmas and Damask Designs) and vintage Christmas carol sheet music and some baker's twine.
Next, adhere all the papers. I added a strip of sheet music on each first, followed by a strip of patterned paper. I went ahead and wrapped the pillow box with papers too, while I was at it. Might as well assembly-line it when you can, to speed up the process!
Next, I did all the stamping. A sentiment was added to each tag and the pinecones were stamped on the die cuts.
All that was left to do was pop the pinecones onto the tags & box with some foam adhesive, and then baker's twine was added to each tag as well as tied around the box.
The best part is that 4 of these tags slide nicely right into the pillow box! Handy!
A cute and easy gift -- what could be better with the holiday rush soon upon us? You'll be so glad you planned ahead when you need a little gift for a special someone!
I hope I've inspired you to whip up some gift tags today, whether they're to bulk up your own stash for Christmas, or to give to someone else! If you take a couple hours to make some now, you'll be so glad when it's time to wrap gifts and you've already got a pile of gift tags ready to roll! OR, when those last minute gift needs pop up (you know how that can happen!), you'll be so glad you've got a little gift set ready and waiting!
Have a great weekend, Dearies!
