Hi there!
It's time for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, we're focusing on a new stamp set in the holiday tags line-up, 2012 Holiday Tags, designed by Nichole Heady. Making Christmas gift tags has long been a favorite of mine....I so enjoy adding that extra special handmade touch to gifts as I'm wrapping them each year so I love to get a jump on creating tags, so that they're ready and waiting for me when it comes time to wrap gifts!
Nichole challenged us to create a set of gift tags as well as a card using 2012 Holiday Tags!
First up, let's talk about the card.....I started with a rustic cream card base and added a damask paper from the pure poppy pattern pack.
For the focal point, I started with a kraft piece of card stock that I die cut with the wine bottle tag die and then ran thru the Vagabond with the new Striped Sweater impression plate. Next, I used the limitless layers: 2 1/4" oval dies to create the layers for the tag, and then stamped the Sending Holiday Cheer tag from 2012 Holiday Tags set. After stamping the tag, I couldn't resist adding a 'snowy' top to the roofline with some Prisma glitter and a glue pen.
For the tags, I used a lot of the same elements with a few changes here and there. For starters, the tags were die cut using the Tag Sale #5 die. Along the bottom of each tag, I stamped the new Background Basics: Striped Sweater using kraft ink.
The oval tag portion is the same as on the card front, and I topped each tag with a threaded pure poppy button.
Of course I couldn't let you go without a couple more Peaceful Pinecones projects to share! I have to say that I loooove the way this card turned out! I'm finding out that pretty much any time I can mix pink and red and brown on a card, I'm a happy camper! Haha.
I started out with a vintage cream card stock panel that I stamped with Background Basics: Striped Sweater, alternating raspberry fizz and pure poppy. LOVE! Above the stripes, I stamped the sentiments from Peaceful Pinecones -- "We wish you a" and "Merry Christmas". After adhering the cream panel to the raspberry fizz card front, I added a thin strip of pure poppy card stock for a bit of definition between the stamped pattern and the sentiment. Lastly, I die cut and stamped a pinecone branch from Peaceful Pinecones, using dark chocolate ink....I stamped the branch off once before stamping on the die cut, to lighten the branch just a bit. Prisma glitter added the perfect frosty touch to finish things off!
And since we're on the subject of holiday tags today, I couldn't resist whipping up a few Peaceful Pinecones gift tags to show you!
The rustic cream tags were die cut with the tag sale #6 die and stamped with the "Peace & Joy" sentiment from Peaceful Pinecones, using aqua mist ink. Next came the aqua mist doily layer (doily details die) followed by a dark chocolate card stock layer that was die cut with the new Framed Out #9 die and stamped with the coordinating image from the Framed Out #9 stamp set, using dark chocolate ink.
I eliminated the circle that's die cut from the Framed Out #9 die cut and after adhering the dark chocolate scalloped circle to the doily, I stamped the dotted circle (from Framed Out #9) on the doily layer. Topping each tag is a die cut pinecone branch. The branches were stamped with aqua mist ink and the pinecones with dark chocolate, and each were topped with Martha Stewart glitter. In real life, these are soooo sparkly and almost a bit vintage looking! Love!
All righty, Friends, that's it for me today, but the other girls have TONS of inspiration for you so be sure to pay them each a visit!
