Hi there!
It's Group Post time at Papertrey and today, each of the Design Team members have projects to share with you featuring two brand new stamp sets -- Embroidered Blooms, designed by Nichole Heady and Ribbons & Bows, designed by Maile Belles! We've each got a card using just Embroidered Blooms and one using it paired with Ribbons & Bows.
A really great feature of Embroidered Blooms is that the flowers and leaves were designed to coordinate with previously released dies -- which means, you may already have these dies in your stash! The flowers coordinate with two of the Beautiful Blooms II die sets and the leaves coordinate with the Turning a New Leaf dies.
For this first card, I started out by stamping the two leaf images from Embroidered Blooms on the rustic cream card stock. The inner portion of the leaves is stamped in new leaf ink and the outer portion in hawaiian shores ink. Next, I pulled out my Beautiful Blooms II dies and die cut the largest of two flowers from limeade ice bitty dot paper and then a second smaller layer from rustic cream card stock. The card stock layers were stamped with images from Embroidered Blooms. The sentiments (also from Embroidered Blooms) were stamped in the upper right corner with dark chocolate ink.
For this card, I started out by stamping the largest bow from Ribbons & Bows on rustic cream card stock using simply chartreuse ink. The sentiments were stamped using ripe avocado ink.....those two inks were chosen for those 'background' elements because they match the leaf colors and therefore, sort of blend in to the background without competing with the two flowers, which I really wanted to POP!
The leaves are all actually one large leaf stamp (and the largest Turning a New Leaf die) and after I stamped them, I simply tore them apart and tucked them wherever I needed them. Don't be afraid to tear those die cuts apart and use them in different ways than how they were originally designed!
The flowers here stamped using alternating berry sorbet and raspberry fizz inks, and topped with dark chocolate dots in the centers. A few Studio Calico gems in a lovely brown color finished things off!
That's it from me today, but all of the other girls on the Design Team have projects to share with you too, so be sure to pay them all a visit!
