I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas!! Ours was so sweet, thanks to a certain little 3-week old nephew who's parents brought him to our house for his first Christmas! We ate a lot and laughed a lot and snuggled the baby a lot....it was a great day!
And now with Christmas just a few days ago, it's time (if you haven't already) to whip up a few thank you notes to mail out to send along a little gratitude for all the gifts you've received! I'm a huge fan of good old fashioned mail....you know the kind....in an envelope, with a stamp....and actual handwriting! Haha. This weekend, if you get a minute in between family gatherings and festivities, you can pull out your supplies and whip up a few thank you's to pop in the mail. I made this little set of 3 thank you's in 45 minutes while a pot of soup was cooking on the stove!
By keeping the cards the same basic layout, I was able to assembly line them quickly. And by changing up the colors on each one, I was able to keep from getting bored! Hahaha!
I stamped the sentiment from Signature Greetings, first and then ran the cream card stock thru the Vagabond with my Herringbone impression plate. I loooove the big impact that texture makes, while not detracting at all from the sentiment or the focal point. And it's a quick easy step to add, too!
This first card is the raspberry fizz variety. I used the Lovely Layers dies to die cut rustic cream card stock and then stamped coordinating images from the Lovely Layers stamp set. The 4 layers were all adhered together with scor-tape and then the whole flower was added to the card front with foam adhesive. I wanted to keep these fairly flat and easily mailable, but also wanted lots of color depth.
Starting on the largest back layer, I stamped raspberry fizz first, followed by pure poppy veining. Next are the kraft leaves with dark chocolate veining. Then there's a berry sorbet flower topped with raspberry fizz detailing and lastly is the tiny dark chocolate flower with a pure poppy center.
I used those same colors on each of the 3 cards and just changed up their order on each one.
Here's how I changed the colors up for the berry sorbet card...

And here's how I changed the colors up for the pure poppy card...
Starting on the largest back layer, I stamped pure poppy first, followed by more pure poppy for the veining. Next are the kraft leaves with dark chocolate veining. Then there's a raspberry fizz flower topped with dark chocolate detailing and lastly is the tiny berry sorbet flower with a pure poppy center.
I hope I've inspired you to whip up a thank you or two this weekend -- and don't forget to actually mail them out! :) If you get a chance to whip some up, I hope you'll share them here....just leave a link to your project in the comments section! I'd love to see what you come up with!
Happy Weekend, Friends....
