Today...

This happened today. :) (Excuse the grainy iPhone photo....it's pretty dark in the NICU.)

Benjamin (my newest nephew) got moved to an open crib in the NICU yesterday and that meant that today, family (besides just his parents) could start holding him! It was the absolute best part of my day!

The little peanut is doing so well, in fact, that they're planning to move him into a regular room with his mama on Thursday and if all goes well, they'll let him go home on Saturday!! That would be 9 days after he was born! Such a blessing that he's doing so well!! Thank you so much to each of you that have prayed for him and his mama.....we appreciate your prayers so much! In case you've missed it, I've been sharing lots of pics of him on Twitter and Instagram. You can follow me in either place to keep up with all of the latest news. ;)

I love color and all things vintage! I live with my handsome husband, Bart, and Windsor, our sweet labrador retriever. During those years of being so sick, I got lots of practice learning how to choose joy in the midst of extreme suffering! ;) I'm so, so grateful for all that the Lord has done in our lives to bless us and to bring me to a place of health! He used that long season of illness to draw us closer to Him and we've also seen Him use our transplant story in amazing ways, to pour faith, hope and joy into the lives of others. Those years of struggle were so hard, but I wouldn't trade them because I can see how He was with us every step of the way and how He was using every bit of it for our good and His glory. My hope now, is that I can encourage you to choose joy in the midst of your own struggles. While you're here, I hope you laugh or smile or find some inspiration and encouragement. I hope you enjoy your time with me and ultimately, I hope you see some of HIM while you're here. He is everything. Much love, friends…
