Helloooo!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! So today, the design team is focusing on a new stamp set and coordinating die, designed by Nichole Heady, called Fancy Folk Art and I get the privilege of helping to introduce this set. Nichole challenged the design team to pull inspiration from a photo on Pinterest or elsewhere, for a card and tag. As I went looking for an inspiration photo on Pinterest, I noticed a bit of a recurring theme in my Color Love board.....
I've been drawn to these colors several times, so I thought this would be a great place to start for my card and tag combo!
I started with a melon berry card base and added some bitty dot paper from the melon berry pattern pack.
I stamped one of the charming sentiments from Fancy Folk Art on the bitty dot paper using true black ink and then stamped it a second time on raspberry fizz card stock, before cutting the banner out and adding it over the dotty paper.
I used the new Fancy Folk Art dies to cut out the rustic cream layer as well as the individual flowers. They're all layered on a tag sale #4 die cut and I added a bit of My Mind's Eye twine at the top. The leaves were stamped with ripe avocado ink and the flowers were cut from melon berry, berry sorbet and raspberry fizz card stocks, each stamped with the coordinating images from Fancy Folk Art, using the coordinating inks on each. A gray Studio Calico gem was added to the top flower.
For my tag, I used the new tag sale #7 die and stamped it with the same flower images as the card, using the same inks.
The birthday sentiment was stamped on kraft card stock and a couple layers of card stock in raspberry fizz and berry sorbet were added behind the kraft.
Next up is a happy little card. I started out with a raspberry fizz card base and ran it thru the vagabond with the Cane Print impression plate.
I cut a long panel of rustic cream card stock and stamped images from Fancy Folk Art along the top portion.
Next, I added several strips of papers from the berry sorbet, raspberry fizz and new leaf pattern packs as well as a strip of new leaf card stock. Chocolate baker's twine was tied around the whole panel and the finishing touch was the sentiment from Happy For You stamped at the bottom, with berry sorbet ink.
Now here's a fun one! I decided to try my hand at creating a repeating background pattern with some of the images from Fancy Folk Art! I love the way it turned out!
I started out by stamping the outline flower image using true black ink and then began with the next 'filler' image using hawaiian shores ink.
Then I stamped the next filler image with aqua mist ink and if you look at the top of the panel above, you can see that I used the another filler image and new leaf ink to fill in the little teardrops.
Lastly, I used the little circles image to fill in the holes on the flowers, as well as to fill in between the flowers using simply chartreuse ink.
The panel was added to the hawaiian shores card base and a strip of new leaf card stock serves as a visual divider between the floral pattern and the sentiment.
The sentiment, also from Fancy Folk Art, was stamped in true black ink.
So creating that blue and green background pattern got me to thinking about what a similar pattern would look like stamped in all neutrals, which is how this next card came about. :)
I used a mat stack 6 die to cut out some kraft card stock and then I stamped it with the "Hello, Lovely" stamp from Happy For You as well as the birthday sentiment from Fancy Folk Art. Don't they look great together?! Brown Studio Calico gems finished off the sentiment panel.
For this pattern, I chose a different flower and stamped the outline in smokey shadow ink, turning each row upside down. Next, I filled in every row with fine linen ink around the outer edges of the flowers followed by dark chocolate and kraft inks on alternating rows. Lastly, I filled in the little circles with one last filler stamp using dark chocolate ink on every other row and I left the alternating row's dots blank.
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects! I'd love to hear from you!
