Hi there!
Welcome! Today is the first Papertrey Group Post of the month, and this time each of the Design Team members is sharing a pair of projects using the new Hands of Time products, designed by Nichole Heady! I chose to make a scrapbook layout about our newest nephew, Baby Benjamin.
The photo on the left was such a sweet scene on Christmas day, here at our house....I love the look on his mama's (my sister's) face....I couldn't resist snapping that with my iPhone. And the one on the right, is a snap from a little stocking photo shoot we did when he was just a couple weeks old. Teeny boy was just under 5 lbs when they brought him home from the hospital. He fit just perfectly in his stocking! (He's a whole month old now!) ;)
He was born 5 1/2 weeks early and is doing SO well, the little sweet pea! I loved the sentiment I used from Hands of Time, because it reminds me that God's timing is perfect and Ben came at exactly the 'right' time, regardless of how early it was.
I used the Fabulous Frames stamp set and die, to create the label in the upper right corner. Behind it are a couple strips of card stock (dark chocolate and pure poppy) as well as some Dearest Jane patterned paper. The sentiment from Hands of Time is actually two parts -- the word "Time" and "the place & the moment in which you were meant to be." Those were both stamped in pure poppy ink.
The Hands of Time products are perfect for projects like this because you can customize the clocks and 'set the time' on them, to whatever time you'd like! So in this case, I set the time on both of my clocks, to the time of day that Baby Ben was born! I used another of the tags from Fabulous Frames, to fill in the date and time of Benjamin's birthday. The clocks were stamped with dark chocolate ink, as well as the roman numerals in both. I used the Hands of Time dies to cut some dark chocolate card stock, creating those gorgeous hands. I topped them off with a gem from Studio Calico.
Side note: the smaller clock face coordinates with the circle die from the Limitless Layers: 2 1/2" circle collection.
Next up, is a congratulations card I put together. This would be perfect for a graduation or even a wedding or bridal shower.
The large clock face from Hands of Time was stamped in dark chocolate and the roman numerals were added with gold ink. This time, I cut the hands out from raspberry fizz card stock with the Hands of Time dies. Again, I chose to use a brown Studio Calico gem in the center of the clock.
Just below the clock, I added a strip of dark chocolate card stock topped with scor-tape and some Martha Stewart glitter. Below the glitter strip, I stamped four different sentiments, creating a bit of a collage. I used the same two "Time" sentiments as I did on the previous scrapbook page, and this time also added the "congratulations" from Hands of Time, as well as the "I couldn't be happier for you" from Happy For You.
One more before I go.....this one another congratulations card that could easily be used for a graduation, new job, new house, new baby girl, etc.
The sentiment from Happy For You was stamped in raspberry fizz ink and just below it, I added a strip of berry sorbet card stock on which I stamped the "congratulations" from Inside & Out: Baby in pure poppy ink.
The main design on the card was created with the Background Basics: Rainbows stamp set. I started at the bottom, with the large scalloped image alternating between raspberry fizz and berry sorbet inks and then went back and filled in the little arches using pure poppy ink.
All righty, friends....that's it for me today, but each of the girls have Hands of Time projects to share with you.
