Welcome back for Day 2 of sneak peeks at my new Cutting Garden and Boutique Borders: Mother stamp sets and dies!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on February 15 at 10pm EST.
To kick things off today, I decided to play along with the Color Challenge going on over at Nichole Heady's blog (You can play along too!! See her blog for all the details!). I chose the color combo of new leaf, orange zest, summer sunrise, raspbery fizz and hawaiian shores to work with, pulled out my Cutting Garden set and went to work!
Obviously, I wanted to use the new leaf color to stamp the leaves, so I opted for summer sunrise, orange zest and raspberry fizz for the flowers. After stamping them, I added some glitter to the flowers as well as a Studio Calico gem in the middle of each. The stems for the flowers and the ones on the leaves are all longer than you see on the card above. That's to give you maximum design options, but in this case, I wanted the leaves to be shorter and tucked closer to the flowers. I achieved that by simply not inking all the way down the stems on the leaves. You can also achieve the same look by cutting out a simple mask to lay over the flowers before stamping the leaves next to them.
That left hawaiian shores to work in there somewhere, which I did with the sentiment from Cutting Garden as well as a strip of hawaiian shores bitty dot paper along the bottom of the card. And that finished off an almost-one-layer card! Ha!
Next up is a Congratulations card that could be used for any number of exciting occasions.....graduation, new job, new home, baby girl on the way, etc.
I started out with a melon berry card base and added a piece of berry sorbet bitty dot paper. Next, I die cut some rustic cream card stock with the tag sale #6 die (love that one!) and stamped it with Background Basics: Newsprint using true black ink! LOVE the look of that stamped tag! On the tag, I added various blooms and leaves from Cutting Garden that were stamped with berry sorbet, melon berry and ripe avocado inks.
The sentiment stamped in the lower left of the card, is from Cutting Garden and says, "Congratulations - I couldn't be happier for you".
One more for today, this one featuring Boutique Borders: Mother!
The Boutique Borders: Mother Die was used on some rustic cream card stock. Then I stamped the coordinating frame image with true black ink followed by a "Just Because" sentiment from Tagged Sentiments, stamped with hawaiian shores ink. Behind that is a kraft circle punched with a 1 3/4" circle punch and layered on a Mat Stack 4 die cut. The Mat Stack layer was stamped with an image from the Mat Stack 4 Collection stamp set, using summer sunrise ink. Behind that is one more strip of kraft card stock.
And how about that little diamond pattern? That little image is another included in Boutique Borders: Mother.....I stamped it repeatedly with hawaiian shores ink and voila! Background pattern!
That's all I've got for you today, but I hope you've enjoyed today's projects! You'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Heather Nichols, Ashley Cannon Newell & Cristina Kowalczyk for lots more sneak peeks today. Maile Belles, Lizzie Jones and Melissa Bickford will have peeks at their new sets as well.
