Hello there! We've already been having lots of fun for the Papertrey 6th anniversary release over the last few days, but today kicks off the start of the February Countdown where you'll get to see peeks at all of the new products being released this month. I'm thrilled to have not one but two different sets and coordinating dies to introduce to you this month, so let's get right to it, shall we?
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on February 15 at 10pm EST.
First off, I'd like to introduce you to Cutting Garden, a beautiful floral scene-building set. Cutting Garden is inspired by the gorgeous ranunculus flower. You might remember me telling you last year about how much I love them. I was determined to have some of my own, so we ordered bulbs online, selected the perfect location for them and planted them. My hubby, the green thumb of the family, took diligent care of them. They sprouted! Tiny little green shoots!! Hooray! And then they fizzled. Wah! Haha. That's all we got. Tiny little green shoots. Boo. But you know what? I still love ranunculus, and who knows....maybe we'll try again sometime. Let me know if you have ranunculus tips! In the meantime, I can 'have my ranunculus and stamp it too', in the form of my Cutting Garden stamp set! *wink!*
I decided to play along with today's sketch challenge (you can play along too!) over at Nichole's blog, so I started with a new leaf card base. I used the Cutting Garden dies to cut out the flowers and leaves and then stamped them with the coordinating images from Cutting Garden, using hawaiian shores and ripe avocado inks. Here's a peek at the Cutting Garden dies....
There are 6 individual flower dies and the three leaf dies are wired together.
In keeping with the sketch I chose, I used the wine bottle tag die to cut out some hawaiian shores card stock and stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from Cutting Garden on the bottom, using ripe avocado ink. Peeking out from behind the hawaiian shores layer is a bit of rustic cream card stock that was cut with the tag sale #5 die and layered on top of the hawaiian shores card stock is a bit of bitty dot paper from the hawaiian shores pattern pack.
Next up, I have a little Mother's Day clipboard art piece to share with you that showcases more Cutting Garden images as well as my other new stamp set this month, Boutique Borders: Mother! These two sets work together beautifully!
I bought a set of three mini clipboards at Target, in the frame section. They're just perfect for adding a little 4x6 piece of artwork to give as a gift. They could be hung on the wall or simply propped up on a shelf.
I started out with a 4x6 piece of hibiscus burst paper from the new hibiscus burst pattern pack and then die cut several elements with the Cutting Garden dies....4 leaves, 2 buds with stems, 1 flower with stem and 2 other individual flowers. I stamped them using Cutting Garden images with raspberry fizz, pure poppy and ripe avocado inks and adhered them to the bitty dot paper.
I added a few pink rhinestones to the center of the largest flower.
Along the bottom of the patterned paper, I added a rustic cream card stock strip on which, I stamped the frame from my new Boutique Borders: Mother stamp set using dark chocolate ink. Inside the frame is a sentiment, also from Boutique Borders: Mother, stamped in raspberry fizz ink. A pair of pink rhinestones was added to either side of the frame.
The nice thing about this little gift is that the artwork is simply clipped onto the clipboard under the clamp! So it can easily be swapped out with another piece of artwork when you'd like to make the recipient something new!
Next up is another Boutique Borders: Mother card, this one showcasing the die as well! Here's a look at the Boutique Borders: Mother Die....
The Boutique Borders Series will feature a gorgeous -- and very versatile -- frame or border image each month that can be mixed and matched with many other sentiments or images you may already have in your stamp collection!! It will also feature several sentiments in a classic vintage style, and each month, the sentiments will be themed. This month, the sentiments are Mother's Day related, hence the name, Boutique Borders: Mother. There will also be a coordinating die each month, maximizing your design options! And given the $5 price tag on the stamp set and the versatility of those frames as well as the easy additions to your sentiment collection, you'll want to collect them all!
For this card, I started out with an aqua mist card base and added a rustic cream panel that I first inked with vintage touch tea dye around the edges and then stamped with Background Basics: Sheet Music. Next, I pulled out The Sweet Life stamp set and dies to create the flowers. The larger flower was stamped with sweet blush ink first, followed by pure poppy and then raspberry fizz on top. As you can see, the raspberry fizz is super subtle. However on the small flower, I flipped those top two colors. So the back layer is sweet blush, the middle layer is raspberry fizz and the top layer is pure poppy.
I used the Boutique Borders: Mother die to cut out some aqua mist card stock and stamped the frame from the Boutique Borders: Mother stamp set, using hawaiian shores ink before stamping the sentiment (also from Boutique Borders: Mother) using true black ink.
All righty, that's it for me today!! But don't miss out on lots more Cutting Garden and Boutique Borders: Mother inspiration!! Nichole Heady and Betsy Veldman are both showcasing more Cutting Garden and Boutique Borders: Mother so you won't want to miss that!! Erin Lincoln also has some sneak peeks of one of Melissa Bickford's newest stamp sets today. Heather Nichols, Maile Belles, Lizzie Jones and Melissa Bickford will have peeks at their new sets as well.
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects and new product introductions! What do you think of Cutting Garden and Boutique Borders: Mother so far? I'd love to hear from you!!
Thanks so much, friends. I'll see you back here again tomorrow with lots more Countdown fun!
