Hi there!
Welcome back for another Papertrey Group Post! There's a fun contest going on that you'll want to be sure to read all about over at Nichole Heady's blog -- it just happens to involve that photo above. *wink*
So today, each of the design team members is focusing on several new spring themed products, starting with this DARLING Easter basket that you can create with the new Favor It Box 9 dies! This is the larger sized basket (you can create a small one too) and it's just waiting to be filled with some Easter candy!
Isn't the shaker-style detailing on the basket, so darn cute?! Man, I love it. And I can honestly say that it's a really easy basket to put together too! Even better! Cute AND easy! Gotta love that.
For the tag, I used Melissa Bickford's new Polka Dot Parade #1 stamps and dies to create the bunny as well as the sentiment. The tag is a Tag Sale #5 die cut. For the bunny, I die cut him from aqua mist card stock and stamped him with hawaiian shores ink.
Next up is a card featuring Maile Belle's new Mini Blooms stamp set! Mini Blooms has lots of individual flower stamps so you can build your own groupings but it also has two corner-cluster images for when you want to stamp them all a little quicker. In this case, I stamped the smaller one on the top portion of some aqua mist card stock and the larger one on the bottom. I stamped both with versamark ink and then heat embossed them with aqua Zing embossing powder.
After embossing the flowers, I stamped a large flourish and sentiment, both from Mini Blooms, using dark chocolate ink. Along the bottom of the card is a strip of glittered card stock that was die cut with the heart border die.
Next up, how about a Cutting Garden card? :) To create that background pattern, I used Lizzie Jones' new Fanciful Finials stamp set! I alternated each row right-side-up, upside-down. I love that it almost looks like vintage wallpaper!
The flower and leaves were die cut with the Cutting Garden dies and then stamped with coordinating images. The leaves were stamped with kraft ink and the flower was stamped with melon berry ink with berry sorbet ink rolled around the edges before stamping. I added some of the new Kaiser Scrapbook resin flowers that Papertrey will now be carrying, and finished things off with a strip of rustic cream card stock on which I stamped another of the sentiments from Cutting Garden!
Here's a card that combines both of my new sets this month -- Cutting Garden AND Boutique Borders: Mother.
To start things off, I ran the rustic cream card base thru my Vagabond with the Aida impression plate. Such a realistic look, it creates!
Then I die cut the largest mat stack 6 die from dark chocolate card stock and then die cut the smallest mat stack 6 die from inside the larger one, thus creating a frame. Then I ran the frame thru the Vagabond with my woodgrain impression plate to give it a bit of wooden texture.
Next, I stamped some flowers and leaves from Cutting Garden on their coordinating die cuts. I used raspberry fizz, summer sunrise and simply chartreuse inks. Lastly, I die cut and stamped the frame from Boutique Borders: Mother using summer sunrise ink and stamped a sentiment from Cutting Garden inside the frame. A perfect fit!
One more for today -- this one, a Boutique Borders: Mother card. This is a prime example of how well the Boutique Borders frames can work with LOTS of other stamp sets you may already have in your stash!
To start out, I stamped a piece of rustic cream card stock with the World Map image using Palette Noir ink and then watercolored it with pure poppy and dark chocolate inks. I used my heat tool to hurry along the drying process and then adhered the map to a pure poppy card base.
The Boutique Borders: Mother die was used to cut out some rustic cream card stock and then coordinating image was stamped with pure poppy ink. The finishing touch was the sentiment from Sending My Love, which was stamped in dark chocolate ink.
That about wraps it up for me, but be sure to head to Nichole's blog for all the details on today's contest and don't forget to bop around to visit each of the girls on the design team for lots more Spring Fling inspiration!
