Hi there,
Happy February 1st! It's Senior Design Team day at Papertrey Ink! Today, we're focusing on Tremendous Treats: Valentine and the coordinating dies that were recently released!
If you have Valentines to make for the kiddos in your life -- whether your own or the kids at school, I've got a fun and easily mass-producible project to share with you today! They're inexpensive, they're simple to make and they don't involve candy! No food allergies to worry about! I whipped up these little pencil flags for my nieces and nephew, but they'd be so easy to make for classmates at school. Plus, I don't know about you but when I was a kid, pencils, pens & paper were HIGH on my list of things I loved to recieve!
To get started, I cut rectangles of card stock in various colors... 1 5/8" x 3 3/4". Then I cut a notch out of one end and stamped my sentiment of choice on each one. Next, I ran them thru the vagabond with my herringbone impression plate.
After that, just flip them over and add a strip of scor-tape to the straight end.
Before peeling off the adhesive backing, I sort of rolled the card stock around the pencil a bit, so there wouldn't be any weird crinkles or bends in the card stock. Then, just peel and stick! Easy peasy! All that's left to do after that, is add the die-cut cutie of your choice! Tremendous Treats: Valentine makes that easy!
As you can see, I die cut an airplane, a cupcake and a puppy and then stamped each again on scrap card stock and cut out various little bits to add to the top of each die cut image. (the heart on the dog, the heart and cupcake cup and the heart strip on the airplane)
I found these super cute Valentine pencils in the Dollar Spot section at Target. Got the pack of 8 pencils for $1. Not too shabby!
That's it for me today, but be sure to visit the other Senior Team members to see their Valentine projects too!
