Hiiii! Welcome to Day 2 of the Papertrey March Countdown! I've got several more peeks at Boutique Borders: Birthday for you today!! I also decided to pair each of today's sneeks with another new set that Nichole is showcasing today -- Rosie Posie Step 2! It's no secret that I adore Rosie Posie and couldn't wait to show you how well it pairs with my new Boutique Borders: Birthday!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on March 15 at 10pm EST.
To get going on this card, I started out with a panel of rustic cream card stock. I wanted a very vintage-like feel so I pulled out my smokey shadow ink, but every time I stamped it, I stamped it off first on scratch paper to soften it a bit when I stamped it on my card. I stamped the text strip from Background Basics: Birthday Fun first. Just above and under the strip, I stamped one half of the frame image from Boutique Borders: Birthday, stamping the top one off the edge of the card stock. Above the top frame image, I stamped one of the sentiments from Boutique Borders: Birthday. I was already LOVING how this card was turning out and thennnnn, I pulled out Rosie Posie and the new Rosie Posie Step 2! I stamped leaves from Rosie Posie directly on top of the text stamping using new leaf ink and then stamped the shading from Rosie Posie Step 2 using ripe avocado ink. Next, I die cut a large flower from Rosie Posie and stamped it with hawaiian shores ink topped with ripe avocado ink and the coordinating shading image from Rosie Posie Step 2.
The card base is hawaiian shores card stock with a strip of berry sorbet card stock added for a fun pop of unexpected color and I stamped the whole left edge with the text image from Background Basics: Birthday Fun. Lastly, I dragged all the edges of the cream layer and the left edge of the hawaiian shores layer with fresh snow ink.
Next up is another one with a rustic cream panel adhered to the right and on foam adhesive. I'm loving that look these days!
I die cut the Boutique Borders: Birthday frame from berry sorbet card stock and stamped the coordinating image with dark chocolate ink. Then, I cut it in half and adhered it to the rustic cream panel, so that it's peeking out on either side of a strip of pure poppy bitty dot patterned paper. Rosie Posie flowers and leaves were die cut and stamped with Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie Step 2 images. The flowers were stamped with berry sorbet and pure poppy inks. The leaves were stamped with kraft and dark chocolate inks.
I love how I was able to create the look of a much larger frame just by cutting the die cut in half and "stretching" it with the patterned paper!
A sentiment from Boutique Borders: Birthday was stamped in the lower right corner with dark chocolate ink.
Lastly for today, how about a really neutral color scheme??
The card base is kraft card stock and I stamped it with the frame from Boutique Borders: Birthday using smokey shadow ink, stamping it off the edge of the card front. I also stamped a sentiment from Boutique Borders: Birthday on rustic cream card stock and trimmed closely around it. The sentiment is layered above a strip of burlap that was cut to fit inside the frame image. I love the extra bit of texture this adds to this (basically) one layer card!
For the flowers, I stamped the Rosie Posie images using fresh snow ink and topped them with the Rosie Posie Step 2 images using smokey shadow ink. I love how this looks!
All righty, I'm off for now, but I hope you've enjoyed today's projects!! What do you think of Boutique Borders: Birthday so far? I'd love to hear from you!!!
