Hello there! I'm so happy you've stopped by today! It's time for the Papertrey March Countdown and this month, I'm happy to be bringing you the next installment in my Boutique Borders stamp and die series! This month, I bring you Boutique Borders: Birthday!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on March 15 at 10pm EST.
To create this card, I started out with a rustic cream card stock base and then die cut little "banners" from various pattern packs (hawaiian shores, pure poppy and berry sorbet) using various Papertrey dies (double ended banner die, tag sale #5 and one other that Nichole will be introducing you to later in the week). I adhered them to the card front, careful to not put any adhesive on the bottom of the flags so they'd be free to pop forward just a bit. I then added a strip of berry sorbet card stock and stitched it to the card front with my sewing machine.
Here's a peek at the Boutique Borders: Birthday Die.
I die cut some rustic cream card stock with the new Boutique Borders: Birthday die and then stamped the frame from Boutique Borders: Birthday, using berry sorbet ink, followed by one of the sentiments from Boutique Borders: Birthday, using pure poppy ink.
Here's a reeeeally simple card for you.....the card base is rustic cream and I added a panel of bitty dot paper from the hawaiian shores pattern pack with some smokey shadow card stock tucked behind it.
The frame from Boutique Borders: Birthday was stamped directly on the dotty paper using smokey shadow ink and black rhinestones were added as accents.
I made a fun little discovery while creating this card! The double ended banner die cuts fit PERFECTLY when layered over the Boutique Borders: Birthday frame!! The other sentiment from Boutique Borders: Birthday was stamped on the die cut and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
One more for today.....I paired Boutique Borders: Birthday with another set that Nichole is telling you all about today....Background Basics: Birthday Fun designed by Melissa Bickford.
I started out with a rustic cream card base as well as a second panel to layer on top. I stamped the frame from Boutique Borders: Birthday using dark chocolate ink and stamped one of the two sentiments from Boutique Borders: Birthday, using hawaiian shores ink.
On the background of the card, I started by stamping the birthday gifts strip from Background Basics: Birthday Fun using hawaiian shores ink and then stamped it two more times on the additional card stock panel, using new leaf and then limeade ice inks. Then, on the card base, I stamped the other border image (birthday text) from Background Basics: Birthday Fun using dark chocolate ink. To finish things off, I inked the edges of everything with vintage touch tea dye duo ink and then adhered the top layer with foam adhesive.
That's all for me today, but I hope you'll join me again tomorrow for lots more Countdown fun!
For today, you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Betsy Veldman & Erin Lincoln for lots more sneak peeks. Heather Nichols, Maile Belles, Melissa Bickford and Lexi Daily will have peeks at their new sets as well.
Thanks so much for visiting me today!
Take care!
