....you just need to get out your great-grandmother's teapot, a favorite vintage table cloth, a cup of coffee, and just put on some soothing music and spend a little time reading God's Word and soaking up His promises. I've discovered, after living here for 12 years, that one corner of the dining room has the most gorgeous morning light....the perfect little spot for some quiet time. (How did I not know this before now?)
This was the scene in our dining room yesterday morning. After getting sucked into CNN for way too long, watching live coverage of a manhunt, after walking Windsor and seeing someone sleeping in a neighborhood gazebo (and worrying for the elderly widow living nearby), and after making my own non-emergency call to the police just to check the situation out and calling said elderly neighbor to check on her, I felt a bit....unsettled. So I pulled out my great-grandma's teapot for no other reason than it makes me happy to look at it and I treasure it so because my memories of her are few (she passed away when I was little). I put on some worship music (songs we sing at our church)....that music always helps to ground me and bring my mind back around to what's most important and I spent time time reading my Bible and praying. Just what I needed. Ahhh.
When the world feels a little bit topsy-turvy, I'm so glad there's HOPE. There's goodness! There's beauty! There's even JOY.
Wishing you a beautiful Saturday, dearies!
xoxo,
