I don't know about you, but who doesn't love a cupcake, right? I've got a darling gift idea for you today....pick up a cupcake from your favorite bakery (or make your own!), add some colorful cupcake toppers and tuck it all in a charming little ceramic berry basket for the perfect springtime gift! Drop one off to a friend who could use a little pick-me-up, leave one on a co-worker's desk for a surprise birthday treat, or even take one as a thank you to a hostess! These could also be used as adorable party favors.....you could simply get disposable berry baskets to make them a bit more affordable!
To get started, you'll want to die cut and stamp your flowers (also die cut 2 flowers for the back sides) and leaves. I used the Beautiful Blooms II dies and the new Happiness in Bloom stamp set here and stamped the largest flower using raspberry fizz, pure poppy and dark chocolate inks. The smaller flower was stamped with summer sunrise, orange zest and dark chocolate inks and both layers of the leaves were stamped with simply chartreuse ink.
You'll also need some lollipop sticks. I got these in the cake decorating/candy making section at Michael's.
Cover the backs of all the flowers (both the stamped "front" flowers and the plain "back side" flowers) with scor tape.
Next, simply put the front flower together with the back flower, sandwiching the stick and the leaves in between the two flowers. Easy peasy!! Having both of the flowers covered with adhesive, helps to ensure that everything is really securely held together.
All that's left is to pop them in the cupcake! You could also easily add a little banner on a stick, with a "Happy birthday" or "Happy spring" sentiment, or the like.
I'm fairly certain that a gift like this would brighten just about anyone's day! Don't you think?
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!
