Hi! I'm so glad you've popped back in for Day 3 of the Papertrey May Countdown! I've got lots more Ruby Rose and Boutique Borders: Baby inspiration to share with you so sit back, relax and let's get right to today's projects!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on May 15 at 10pm EST.
For this first card, I pulled out the Garden Variety stamp set and coordinating seed packet frame die. I die cut the frame from rustic cream card stock and stamped coordinating images (frame, header and footer text) from Garden Variety using melon berry, hawaiian shores and pure poppy inks. Next, I die cut flowers and leaves from Ruby Rose and stacked them up inside the frame opening with foam adhesive. I topped the flowers with some Prima crystals.
The sentiment along the bottom of the card is one from Ruby Rose that was stamped in berry sorbet ink.
Next up, I decided to get a little watercolor-y. :) I started out with a page torn out of an old book. I stamped images from Ruby Rose using winter wisteria, plum pudding, lavender moon and ripe avocado inks.
Next, I just added water with a paintbrush, dragging the brush over and around each image to create a simple watercolor effect.
I dried the entire page with my heat tool and then added some Mister Huey splatters in calico white.
For the sentiment, I turned to Maile Belles' new Side By Side Sentiments stamp set, stamping on rustic cream card stock with winter wisteria ink. Before adhering, I added a strip of winter wisteria bitty dot paper and then hand cut a notch out of the side of the panel.
Next up, how about a baby boy card? I started out with an aqua mist card base here, and added a piece of vintage book print over the top. Next, I used the new Cover Plate: Triangles (see Nichole's blog for lots more info!) to die cut the triangle panel and layered it right over the top of the book print! I love the text-y, geometric look for this baby boy card! It provides a really interesting background without it being too busy!
On the rustic cream strip, I stamped the frame from Boutique Borders: Baby using aqua mist ink followed by one of the sentiments (from the same set) using new leaf ink. The wide sentiment panel helps to break up all the angles on the background. To finish things off, I die cut and stamped the cute giraffe from Sweet Baby!
Well, I hope you've enjoyed today's projects!! I've sure had fun sharing them with you! I'll be back tomorrow with lots more to share.....I hope you'll join me!
