Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, it's my turn to help highlight the new Round Repeats stamp set (designed by Nichole Heady) so I've got lots and lots of cards to share with you!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on June 15 at 10pm EST.
I had sooooo much fun making this first pair of cards! I started off by stamping this gorgeous medallion a few times on rustic cream card stock, using both pure poppy and raspberry fizz inks.
The whole premise of the Round Repeats stamp set is that you stamp the image once, turn it 90 degrees and stamp it again, and then stamp it two more times turning the image 45 degrees each time to fill in the blanks. So basically you stamp the image 4 times, first creating a cross and then an "x". Easy peasy!
So I stamped it twice with pure poppy and then filled in two more times with raspberry fizz ink. When the medallions were all done, I stamped a little center pattern (also from Round Repeats) with aqua mist ink. Next, I used my hawaiian shores reinker and some water to watercolor the background! I purposely left a bit of white space here and there, so that it clearly looks watercolored.
And that charming little sentiment is from my Happy For You stamp set. :)
So for this card, I did the same thing.....stamped the medallions and watercolored around them. Except this time, I used the limitless layers: 2 1/2" circle dies to die cut one of them (which is layered on the pinked edge circle die cut) and the other, I cut out with paper snips and layered on top with foam adhesive. I love that I was able to do the same exact stamping and watercoloring on both of these cards, and yet I've got two completely different looks on these cards at the same time!
I used the new Happiness In Bloom Leaves dies to cut out the ripe avocado leaves.
Just below the focal point, I stamped just half of the Boutique Borders: Thanks frame using smokey shadow ink, as well as two different sentiments from the same set! Stacking them up like this, gives you yet another sentiment option!
Now here's a really clean and simple card for you. Remember I told you that you take the Round Repeats images and stamp them four times to get the completed medallion? So on this medallion, I inked the image with two different colors each time before I stamped it, so that half was in one color and the other half was another color. That way, as I stamped it each time, I was able to work my way through the rainbow colors!
In case you'd like to try this yourself, I started by inking the image with new leaf ink on one half and pure poppy on the other. See those two colors stamped in the middle? Then, I turned the image 90 degrees and stamped it again, this time with aqua mist and summer sunrise inks. Turning it 45 degrees, I stamped it with harvest gold on one half and raspberry fizz on the other. And lastly, I filled in the space with hawaiian shores on one half and orange zest on the other.
The sentiment is one from my Hello Friend stamp set, stamped in smokey shadow ink.
So for this sunshiney card, I started out by stamping this pretty medallion image only two times each, creating x's over an entire rustic cream background using harvest gold ink. Then, I filled in with one of the tiny diamond images from Round Repeats before adding some Polka Dot Basics along the bottom using summer sunrise ink.
A few rhinestones were added to accent the background.
Toward the bottom, I added a strip of harvest gold bitty dot paper and a thin strip of summer sunrise card stock. I stamped the sentiment from We Go Together using smokey shadow ink and then stamped it again using summer sunrise ink on rustic cream card stock. I cut out the banner portion of the sentiment and adhered it over the first sentiment, with foam adhesive.
All of the medallions you can stamp with Round Repeats were designed to coordinate with the Limitless Layers: 2 1/2" circle dies, so I used them together again on this card.
This time, I started out with rustic cream card stock and watercolored over the entire surface (see the bits of cream showing around the edge of the circle?). Then, I stamped this scalloped medallion over the watercoloring, using hawaiian shores ink. Next, I stamped one of the small accent stamps from Round Repeats, using new leaf ink and topped the whole thing off with a new leaf button.
The entire focal point was layered on some aqua mist card stock that was stamped with a square frame, created with the Boutique Borders: Thanks frame and new leaf ink.
Below the frame is a strip of new leaf card stock that was cut with the heart border die and the sentiment from Boutique Borders: Thanks was stamped on a fabulous frames die cut.
One more for today.....this time, I wanted to use those medallions as flowers!
I stamped two different medallions from Round Repeats and cut them out with paper snips. Tucked behind the flowers are some Ruby Rose leaves, stamped with kraft ink.
And of course, the sentiment here, was created with the new Boutique Borders: Thanks stamp set and die!
I so hope you've enjoyed today's projects! Hopefully at least one project jumped out and caught your attention! :)
