Hello there!! I'm so sorry to disappear on you for a few days, but yesterday (the 25th) was my 38th birthday (yes, 38! It's not a typo! Haha!) and my husband had some fun festivities planned that I didn't know about! I'll tell you all about them, but first, how about some Studio Calico sneak peeks?! I used the Valley High card kit here, as well as the Jennifer and Corey add-on kits. You might notice, I had some fun with the stamps in this month's kits! ;) You might also notice that I fell in love with some of the patterned papers and used them and their color scheme again and again. :)
So on Sunday, I sang at church which meant that I had to be there for two services so Bart came to the first service and then headed home to cook a yummy lunch for my family, who surprised me and came for a little birthday party! And Sunday night, Bartley had dinner reservations at one of our favorite restaurants in town (they send us a coupon for free dinner on our birthdays -- gotta love that!). Monday morning, I thought was a regular Monday. He headed off to work and I got up and went about my Monday morning routine, and then I went to my ladies' Bible study at church. After Bible study, I walked out of church with one of my friends and her littles, only to see a car pull up out front and I thought to myself, "Hmm....I wonder who else at church has a car just like ours...." and then I realized that my husband was driving! Haha. He'd been texting with two of my friends from Bible study, so he'd know what I was wearing (so he was dressed accordingly - don't you hate when your hubs wears shorts and you're wearing jeans or when he's wearing jeans and you're wearing shorts? lol.) and he'd asked them to let him know when Bible study was done so he'd know when we were walking out! He hadn't gone to work at all, but had instead run a few errands until he knew I'd be gone from the house and then he went home and hung out with Windsor for a bit before coming to church to pick me up for a surprise date! I tell you, I felt like I was in a movie, to walk out of church and have my handsome boy pull up just as we walked out!! And the fact that my sweet friends were in on it, just made it even more special. I LOVED that! (Thanks again, girls!!)
We went to lunch and then all over town to some of our favorite places! The best part was that he'd taken both Monday and Tuesday (my actual birthday) off work, so we had two days to just play! On Tuesday, we drove to Atchison, KS -- one of my favorite little historical towns -- and did some shopping and then drove to St. Joseph, MO to do some antiquing at a few stores we'd never been too. He knows that I LOVE car time with him.....just talking and laughing and exploring little towns and their antiques stores. It was a great day! We topped it all off with some yummy Mexican food for dinner. To say that I feel blessed, would be such an understatement. Not only was my husband so dreamy but so many friends and family (including some of you!!) sent me texts and emails and left comments here and on Twitter and Instagram wishing me a happy birthday! Thank you so much!!!
My friend, Katie, said in a text right before bed last night, "I hope you sleep the sleep of the very loved". I thought that was SUCH a nice thing to say and boy, let me tell you I did! I felt very loved and I appreciate that so much! It was a wonderful day!
Anyway, I hope your week has gotten off to a great start! I've missed you!
