Hello there! It's time for the Papertrey July Countdown and this month, I am SO excited to be bringing you two new stamp sets, both of which are featured on this first card! Introducing Delightful Dahlia Additions and Boutique Borders: Love!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on July 15 at 10pm EST.
Delightful Dahlia Additions is a follow-up to the previously released Delightful Dahlia stamp set that has been so popular! Delightful Dahlia Additions features solid dahlia images and additional shading images that can be used alone or in conjunction with the original Delightful Dahlia stamp set and Delightful Dahlia dies, as well as a collection of versatile new sentiments covering a range of occasions! You can also simply stamp a single layered dahlia when you're in a hurry or you can use the additional shading images to add life-like depth and detail to your flowers! You are going to LOVE how realistic these flowers can look with just a few simple stamps! I have had SO much fun creating with this stamp set -- it is definitely a new favorite!
And of course, Boutique Borders: Love is the next in the Boutique Borders series. This stamp set features a gorgeously detailed frame and some sentiments with a love theme, and I can't forget to mention the coordinating die making this set another must-have!
Each of the two dahlia images in Delightful Dahlia Additions, also feature two additional shading images that you can stamp right on top of the flowers. The largest leaf has two additional shading images as well, while the small leaf has one additional shading image.
I've stamped LOTS of different dahlias in preparation for this Countdown, that will show you all sorts of color combinations that I think you will love! But this first card shows how you can also achieve really subtle shading simply by using the same color of ink (in this case, pure poppy) on the main flower and on both of the shading images. I also did the same on the leaves -- stamped the solid leaf as well as the shading images all in kraft ink.
TIP: I used the little "v" dip on one side of each flower as the 'bottom' of the flower and marked a little dot at the top of the stamp (on the back side of the stamp) with a black sharpie, so I'd know which side is the 'top'. Then I rotated each additional shading image around until I found the 'top' and added one black sharpie dot to each of the shading layer stamps too. That way each time I pull out the stamps, I can easily identify the top of the stamp, making it fast and easy to stamp the additional shading layers.
I stamped the Boutique Borders: Love frame twice on the card front -- once up toward the top of the card and once at the bottom, using dark chocolate ink. I also stamped one of the Delightful Dahlia Additions sentiments on kraft card stock and stitched it to the card front.
Here's a happy little card that features dahlias stamped in hibiscus burst, raspberry fizz and pure poppy inks. The leaves were stamped with simply chartreuse and ripe avocado inks.
The flowers were topped with pure poppy buttons.
The "Celebrating with you..." sentiment is another from Delightful Dahlia Additions and just below that, I die cut the word "birthday" using another new die from this release (see Nichole's blog for more info!). I die cut the Birthday twice, once from the cream panel and once from raspberry fizz card stock and then popped the raspberry fizz die cut into the space on the cream layer.
This last card for today, shows what a pretty frame you can create with Boutique Borders: Love, simply by stamping it once, rotating it 90 degrees and stamping it again!! How fun is that?!
The frame was stamped in summer sunrise ink and I added a sentiment from Boutique Borders: Love, using dark chocolate ink. A few rhinestones finished things off.
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects and I hope you'll be back to visit me every day this week as I've got lots and LOTS of projects featuring Delightful Dahlia Additions and Boutique Borders: Love to share with you!!
For today, you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Betsy Veldman, Cristina Kowalczyk and Erin Lincoln for lots more sneak peeks. Heather Nichols, Lizzie Jones and Melissa Bickford will have peeks at their new sets as well.
See you tomorrow!
