Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, the whole team is focusing on a gorgeous new stamp set designed by Nichole Heady called Meadow Greens.
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on July 15 at 10pm EST.
Nichole challenged each of us to find two very different pieces of inspiration on Pinterest or elsewhere and create two different cards inspired by those photos. Here's the first one I chose....
I love that watercolored background with the flowers being a crisp white! I used some different colors but came up with something similar in concept.
I stamped the flowers and stems with versamark ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I went in and added watercoloring right over the top of the flowers and stems, as well as around them. I used reinkers and water to achieve the look.....raspberry fizz and berry sorbet inks for the flowers and when they were dry, I added a bit of dark chocolate to the centers. Around the stems is new leaf ink and around everything is hawaiian shores watercolor. You want to make sure everything is completely dry before stamping on it, so I used my heat tool to make sure that was the case, and then I stamped the sentiment from Meadow Greens using smokey shadow ink.
When the watercoloring is all dry, you'll want to wipe a dry cloth over the embossed areas. The embossing will resist the watercolor but you'll want to wipe any residue off the embossing to make sure it stays a nice, crisp white.
Here's the next photo I chose as my inspiration. It had that pretty Queen Anne's Lace in the bag but it also had that lovely pop of purple, so instead of stamping my Queen Anne's Lace in white, I opted to stamp it in purples.
I love all the layers of greens in the bag, the bit of kraft color and the strip of brown basket showing on the side.
To mimic that basket snippet, I added a strip of dark chocolate card stock that was embossed with the cane print impression plate. I used a kraft card base to bring out the kraft bag portion of the inspiration photo, and then I piled on the greens! The sentiment is one from Meadow Greens.
I die cut all of the Meadow Greens layers from rustic cream card stock and then stamped the various leaves in ripe avocado, simply chartreuse and spring moss inks. The flower was stamped with plum pudding and winter wisteria.
Before I go, you know I have a few more cards up my sleeve to share with you! ;) First, another little Delightful Dahlia Additions number. I created that beautiful background pattern by simply stamping the flowers and leaves all over the entire rustic cream panel. The easiest way to do this is to start with the largest flowers followed by the smaller flowers -- that way you get all of the flower colors placed just where you want them all over the background. And then the last step is to fill in the holes with the leaves.
I stamped the flowers with aqua mist, hawaiian shores and ripe avocado inks. The leaves were stamped with two layers of new leaf ink and topped with a ripe avocado layer. The sentiment from Delightful Dahlia Additions was stamped in ripe avocado ink. A couple of staples were added with my tiny attacher.
And one more for today.....this time I paired Boutique Borders: Love with the With All My Heart stamp set. So fun!
The frame from Boutique Borders: Love was stamped with new leaf ink and the sentiment was stamped with ripe avocado ink.
Notice that in the little banner space on the hearts, I added the "Tons" from Boutique Borders: Love to finish off the sentiment, "I love you tons"!
The hearts were die cut with the limitless layers: heart dies and the one on the left was stamped with new leaf, hawaiian shores and ripe avocado inks. The one on the right was stamped with hawaiian shores, new leaf and limeade ice inks.
Ok then, that's it for me for now, but be sure to visit the rest of the team for their Meadow Greens projects!
